PSE with Sport Chrono
Hi!
I've heard the nice "backfire-sound" when the car is in Sports mode and I really like it! However, my wife thinks it sounds a little bit "too much", so my question is if there is any mode when the pops and crackles are not that loud? Or if it can be turned off completely?
/Thomas :-)

Turn off PSE.
Or, turn off Sport Plus.
Downshift less.
Don't breath the throttle.
Stuff like that.
I won't make any wife comments.

You don't say which year/model you have. On the thread STG refers someone eventually points out their is a setting on the 991.2 to control this, but I never saw anyone confirm it has been done. https://rennlist.com/forums/991/9596...l#post13711165

New Carrera (base 991.2) with PDK, PSE, Sport chromo, full leather and some other goodies. One of the things I'm deciding on right now is the PSE. I really like the sound of it, but would like to avoid the pops and crackling sometimes... Will read the thread mentioned above

Pops: Sport+ > Sport > normal. You can always turn off PSE when your wife is in the car.
My wife wouldn't get in my 981 unless the roof is down and PSE engaged. (I'm not kiddin). Until....I came to pick her up at home and she was standing outside. Of course I downshift into first and let of the gas......and the gunfire starts. Now she is totally self conscious about what our neighbors think. It sounds a LOT louder from outside even with my roof down.

When I picked up my first 991.1S two years ago, my wife complained all the time when it the PSE was on that it was too noisy.
Now, she doesn't complain and all. I think she has gotten used to it. I also got her to come out to her first autocross this month to watch and ride along several times as a passenger. Come spring, she will be driving my car in autocross...then her training will be complete.
I think my plan has worked.

LOL...I don't think she knows what PSP is...or Sport PASM or PDCC or PCCB or Sport Chrono.
She knows that the engine is in the rear and that it has ceramic brakes (although she doesn't really understand the difference). I think she knows that it has PDK but I doubt she knows what that means (other than not a manual). Pretty sure she knows what the Aerokit cup is as I show it to her every time I was the car hahaha!
Apparently I still have much work to do... . I just checked and she didn't know what Aerokit cup was.
I am amazed at the number of relatives that have looked at the car and had no idea that the engine was in the rear. It's like we are from different planets!
