Interesting interchange. A couple of points, clarifications here:
1) The Bordeaux is not bright red cherry, it's a detuned red -- more like burgundy -- easier to live with and classy IMO.
2) Understand that some don't like two tone interiors, but in the case of Bordeaux, you need the black to tone it down -- particularly on the dash, and the black carpets will be appreciated because they don't get dirty -- look better and require less maintenance.
3) Choose whatever exterior color you like. We live in a free Country, and Porsche will build you whatever you want.

I just ordered a 2017 Carrera S, VooDoo Blue, black interior, black dials, guards red sport chrono dial and guards red belts which will match the red brake calipers. I don't think it will be too much like superman. Can't wait to get it. I have a beach trip planned for end of June 2017 and hope to have it.

I like the blue on red. Bold choice. I think the black dash and door top trim helps with the transition.

Wow. So harsh and about other people's money to boot. If you're buying it for him, get whatever you think looks great. Otherwise, let the man get and enjoy what he likes. Geez.
I'm only chiming in about the dial color, especially if you are ordering a MT. I'm paying the absurd price for white dials in my Targa so I can read the tachometer in all conditions.
If you are one of the 99% getting a PDK, it's no big deal. But the dark dials are almost unreadable in bright light if you're a dinosaur that wants a MT.
