Question about sport design mirror, gloss black base
Any recommendations where to purchase, if possible, high gloss black bases (option on the Porsche website) for the sport design mirrors?

ok I figured. Was told it can't be wrapped due to its dimensions, so I'll guess I'll see if I can have it painted instead.

Wrapping would be tough and with seams obviously. Needs to be removed, taken apart, and painted to do it right.

I had mine, and all the unpainted black plastic on the front bumper also, all painted gloss black to match. Looks much cleaner.

That is the standard mirror, the OP is referring to the Sport Design mirror as pictured below.

thats exactly it. I saw YouTube videos detailing having the base removed and it looks like a PIA.

so once I have the white base removed, it would have to be sanded and painted gloss black?

Isn't the high gloss black standard though? My Sport design base is high gloss black.

If I'm remembering correctly, it used to be that unpainted black was the standard and you had to pay extra for body-color bases. Then they reversed and started painting them body colored and made you pay extra to get them in black (painted).
I didn't check any boxes when I ordered my '15 and the bases came body colored, like STG's. But maybe that's a GTS thing; the Sport Design mirrors were standard on GTS.
