I love this Mod. Can someone tell me their experience with this? Is this a self install? or professionally install?

I installed on my 991.1. Your top and installation are identical. Took me about 20 minutes. Very simple. Program the module using your laptop before you install it. The instructions are on their website.

The only "complaint" I have is that to activate it you must press the unlock button 3 times in succession. This is fine when you are opening the top. But when you are closing the top you also must press unlock three times. It is then easy to forget to lock the car. You need to press the lock button!

The website shows that it is for all 991s from 2012 forward, so I don't think there's any reason to believe it won't work for the 991.2. I also think you'll find that all of us who have SmartTop installed absolutely love it. Best bang-for-the-buck cab mod out there imo.

I had mine professionally installed while other work was being done, but many people have DIY'd it. If you do a search, there's a great thread with pics on install best practices.

Also, there's a promo code on this page for a 5% discount. http://www.mods4cars.com/blog/

Single most important mod you can make for the Cab! It is surprisingly easy to do it yourself...even I could do it!

I thought it was to lower your top...not to raise your frunk lid. I think you should have left it to a professional. ;-)

+1. I provided this same feedback to them and I believe that they fixed it with a software patch on subsequent versions so that the car locks afterwards.

I used to lock the car and then hit the unlock button 3 times which unlocked the car as well.
