Were you able to use the same airbag when you switched to the 991.2 steering wheel? I was told the airbag connections were different.

991.2 uses a different airbag. You need to buy a 991.2 airbag if you are going to upgrade. Otherwise, buy a nice 991.1 sport paddle wheel from me! 🤣☺️🤣

I have a '12 C2S MT WITHOUT MF steering wheel and would like to upgrade the steering wheel to a sport design-- which one do you recommend and is this an easy swap ----Is there a step by step anywhere as well

Thanks

If anyone is interested in a 991.2 MF wheel I have one that I used in my old Turbo S which has a converter installed for plug and play installation. The entire change out only take a few minutes!

I purchased the Techart but the install was intensive and I like the 918 wheel much better so I purchased the GPS converter and a wheel!

Is this black/platinum or black/pebble interior? I love it

Does anyone have a total cost estimate on what it would be to change to a 991.2 multi function wheel?

I did the steering wheel swap myself

10 minute job.. no joke

- disconnect battery, wait 30 minutes (even 15 will do)
- Insert screw driver at the bottom of your current steering wheel, air bag will pop out
- Disconnect two plugs behind the air bag
- Use correct tori bit to remove 1 screw holding steering in place. mark position of steering wheel before removing
- Replace with new steering wheel
- connect and insert new airbag

done

I wanted MF AND paddles.. so I went with a 991.2. Total cost was $1700 for parts.. steering, airbag and conversion module so 991.1 car will recognize 991.2 steering and MF button will work normally

P.S MF only works on cars that already have a MF steering wheel. Those with toggle stalk , need to do a lot more "work"
