I went to install the wire in the auto dim mirror connection above the mirror like my .1 only to find a completely different package. I'm assuming it's because of the auto bright/dim headlamp sensor. There's a small connector beside the Bosch control box (to the right) that has two thin wires of the same color going into a plastic connector. They may be different colors, I'm red/green colorblind.

Anyone? I can see in the photos that one wire is lighter than the other. I'll have to get my voltmeter out and see if they have power only when the ignition's on. Any ideas out there?
I had an Escort 360 hardwired into the fuse box of my 991.2 Targa 4S. Since I had purchased a Blendmount (highly recommended) I also bought their mirror wiring kit. We learned that this kit would NOT work with the 991.2. Very pleased with the install into the fuse box.
drgek--I have the Blendmount as well along with 15" cable to take power off the mirror dimmer circuit. You're saying that won't work on the .2?
I'll have to order the fuse box cord.

All I know is my installer, a local Ferrari tech, tried to use the mirror tap but every time the Escort 360 powered up it triggered a laser alarm. I think he called the Blendmount people who told him it wouldn't work. He successfully wired it into the fuse box.
I finished the hard wire install of the V1 and BlackVue DR750S-2CH camera system. I found an existing chassis ground point to the left of the passenger side fuse box. You have to peel the carpet back to expose it. I used a wire tap to connect the grounds from the V1 and the Black Vue Power Magic Pro accessory to the thinnest of the four ground wires there. The wires run up the A pillar, across the headliner and underneath the plastic housing that covers the rain sensing wipers and the camera for the PDLS headlight system. The V1 and Black Vue wires come out the front of the plastic housing that covers the rearview mirror mounting point and is hidden quite well by the dash cam. I hope this helps fellow Rennlisters.
Save yourself some trouble, and just pop the overhead console with the Homelink buttons & lights. Blue connector on the right has switched power. Use the black wire for ground, the black/red wire for power, and ignore the purple wire. You can thread the tap wire in from between the windshield and console, and then move it around or hide as you see fit. Easy peasy.
I did the mirror tap install on my .2. Slightly different than on the .1 but not challenging. Tap into the blue connector. The one on the driver side slightly up into the roof is constant on and the one on the passenger side is switched. Pick your poison.
This would have been simpler but would not have allowed me to install the Power Magic Pro accessory which allows the cameras to run for a period of time after the engine is shut down. I wanted the parking mode to work and connecting the cameras to a switched 12v source doesn't allow for this. Also, I needed the extra space not just for the power magic pro but for the bluetooth module for the V1.
Gordon, I'm about to do the same thing to my .2, just got the wire Friday. Am I right to think, popping the homelink console looks a lot simpler than the mirror?

I suspect it is with only two spring clips to be released. All it requires is a credit card to slip in there to release them.
Bringing this thread up top. I am just about to install a dashcam and escort hardwire. I also have the power magic box, so looking at the passenger footwell fuse box.
Has anyone managed to use fuse taps AND close the cover back up?
I find that the fuse tap sticks out too far thus preventing putting back the panel.
What's the best approach here?
I just looked at my to the driver's side box and the cover just closes flat. I don't know if it is a difference in the taps or in if there is more clearance on the driver's side. This is a 991.2. Here are photos I just took if it helps resolve anything.
