What are you talking about? My XPEL Ultimate instructions said it must be waxed every month. I've seen people with yellowed films and they said they didn't wax theirs.
Edit: Ok it says every 3 months. Close enough. http://www.xpel.com/postinstallation/care-instructions/

Race Car
I wash and "detail" spray the bra on my C2S and wax it twice a year along with the rest of the car (v careful re wax at the edges)- i.e., treat it like the clear coat on the paint. No yellow after 4 years.

If you wait to do the air filters at 40k they will probably be plugged up. I did mine at 16k and could have waited a while longer, but it's really easy to pull the bumper cover to get at the filters.

Haha no worries most of my posts are nonserious. I drive a ton of miles and in all weather so monthly waxings are necessary. I've seen friends cars with old yellow PFs and my installer said it's all about the wax to keep it from happening.
