All three amplifiers have multiple integrated cooling fans and our cover panels will be vented to allow for the air to move around a bit in the frunk, which is really no different than the trunk of a sedan. Also, they're designed for an automotive environment, so as long as we don't completely suffocate them there won't be any thermal issues. We've done this same type of install in the boot of R8's, 430's, 458's, etc and have never had an issue.

Amplifier wiring is the next step in the process. The power distribution is done and all of the signal patch cables are hand-made to length for the best performance.

The concept for the amplifier rack is to hide both amplifiers under a carpeted floor that looks like a factory piece. That way the boot is still usable if necessary and no one can tell that anything was done at first glance.

We also wanted to have something the client could enjoy visually and show if he desired. With the amplifiers stacked, we essentially built a trim assembly that would hide the wiring and mounting of all of the equipment, but still show the main bodies.

Here's the process of trimming the lower two amplifiers.

After the parts were built we covered the majority in a black vinyl that matched the factory leather interior. Then an Alcantara insert was added with a laser-etched Porsche crest.

Thanks Nick!

BTW - absolutely incredible build. We've got a 7-panel Magnepan front system in our HT driven by Meridian and Mc gear and I think I'd easily sit in this car and enjoy the experience every bit as much. Thank you so much for sharing. First the car, then the personalization! ghl

Stunning. Yes, major investment; audiophiles only..

I am sympathetic to the view that there's a great 2/4-channel sound enhanced by a PSE button.

But very impressive work: well executed!

We're getting a lot closer to the finished pictures of the amplifier mounting. Now that the bottom layer is done we built a casing for the upper Class-A tweeter amplifier out of birch. There are a few reliefs built with filler for edge seams where we'll split the vinyl and Alcantara the last photo shows a second "Aria by Musicar" badge from laser-etched brushed aluminum.

Up next we'll have the finished amp rack photos and the build on the "stealth" cover.

Default How tall is the amp stack?

Or to put it 2 other ways: how much height is left in the frunk? Or pct of storage space lost.

This one took about half the frunk if you measure from the shortest height. The frunk is 16" deep in the front and 22" at the rear. This whole assembly with the cover was around 8" or so.

Very cool. Glad I am a bit older so all that sound candy would be wasted on old ears!

Very impressive indeed. The one-off craftsmanship is just off the charts!!! It looks factory, only MUCH, MUCH, nicer!!!!

My I know why the amps with lights are put inside the frunk instead of putting it at the back (where you put the woofer) - visible from the rear windshield? It may look cooler that way with the lights on

I had same setup for my old 986 boxster, but the amps wasn't put at the back because there was just no space at the back being a mid-engine and conv.

If we we're building a show car, that might have steered us into building something that could be seen through the the glass. We really don't build show cars though. Our approach is to create a beautiful sounding car that complements the factory interior design. Honestly, the only reason we added accent lighting in the frunk is because it COULD be hidden. Very different thought process compared to how most people approach aftermarket audio.
