Guess what they will copy down and call the Highway patrol with? Your easy to remember vanity plate. I knew a guy who had like FAST911(something to that effect). He passed an old couple doing 30 on a 65 mph single lane highway in California on double yellow lines. California has painted over many old passing lanes to double yellow under the guise of safety. Even where its easy to safely pass. They copied his plates wrote the CHP, and he got a nasty letter basically saying if it happens again he will end up in court or something like that, either way he was now on the CHPs Radar.
The problem with this theory, and subsequent solution (random numbers) is that everyone has a quickly accessable phone with a camera nowadays. It doesn't matter if you have an easy to remember plate or random. Quick snap and the numbers are there to recall forever.

If someone's going to take the time to write a letter, they may now include proof with a video or, at the least, a pic of your plate.

Moral of the story? Get the plate you want and enjoy!

I decided to pull the trigger on a plate that I thought would be fun. It's a combination of the Sport Design body kit and slang for "money," so I can hang with my hip hop buddies. lol

There is a guy that I see on my commute to and from work in a 997 Carrera S. His plates say "991 PAT". I keep trying to pull up next to him at a light when we get into town and grab his attention to ask him if he used to own a 991 and kept the plate, or if he's just confused (maybe he bought a 2012 997?)

Picture was taken after a run in the rain and with still remnants of winter on the road. They are actually very clean.

Just got mine in the mail for my, new to me, 2014 Silver TTS. Can't wait to put them on her here in a couple of months. We in AK are stuck with only 6 letters to play with, so this may not make much sense. This car is my dalliance, or as my wife calls her, my frivolous purchase.

Man, I would’ve bet money that was a reference to Denali Anchorage since they’re Alaska plates!

Dalliance. I LOVE it!

Here's mine. I've already gotten several "Why does your plate say 991 when your car is a 911?" while stopping for gas.

Just got mine.
