Default Sport Classic to re-appear in 991.2 guise ?

Anyone else heard that Porsche is considering reprising the Sport Classic from 2010 on the 991.2 platform ? I guess it's feasible given the next 911 is likely to make room for some kind of electrification, so they may see the 991.2 as the last of the 'non-electric' 911s. (PS. When I say non-electric, I refer to some form of KERS rather than a 918 kinda future).

I think it is "Kinetic Energy Recovery System" or something similar eg brake friction converted to electric power 'boost'. Re the OP's question-the 997 sport classic was a really special unusual car that I think is worth a fortune now. I would probably trade my GTS in a second for one. I am just not feeling that 'special ness' with the 991.2

But KERS has nothing to do with the old Sport Classic or the current 991.2.

Yes: right on all counts. 997.2 Sport Classic is worth a fortune....but then again it cost one in 2010. KERS is as per your acronym above.

How a Sport Classic version of the 991.2 would pan out is debatable. I suspect it would look spectacular but please no more than 250 people globally...and go directly into a plastic bag in a heated garage.

Pity Porsche doesn't go the other way and give us an unlimited production C2 manual with all the shizzle removed (along with 100 kg). I, for one, would pay the same price for that as I've done for the lardier 'standard' C2 manual with all the electric motors and 'stuff' I don't need to access the driving experience.

Correct. Unfortunately, I strongly suspect that KERS will have everything to do with the '992' when it appears. Although if they can adopt the 48V system Audi uses for its turbos in the recent SQ7, turbo-lag might be banished forever.....
