Last week we drove up Highway 1 from Sausalito to Leggett. Then we headed up to Humboldt Redwoods State Park, and took the Avenue of the Giants on the way back.
I took this picture of Stratosphere Giant, one of the tallest trees on earth (around 371' tall). https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...b35c2cb5ef.jpg |

I decided to travel through the Tampa area (rainy day) and give out shoes to those who needed it most. Met a couple of Army Veterans one of which gave me thumbs up to my car when I first drove by so I did a quick U-turn and hooked him up (his name is Bill who's next to my car) and the other was just telling the police officer he was needing shoes (he was barefoot) and I pulled up in the parking lot at the right moment and asked him if he needed shoes. He ended up getting 2 pair, socks, an umbrella, and $40 for food. We are all blessed to be in the position of helping others. Cheers!

Nice. I notice you are able to mount the bike with its front wheel on the roof. I'd like to carry my Trek Madone 6 series Carbon bike like this on the roof of my 991.2 C2S. Can you please share some details on the roof carrier and how much it cost you.
The race bike carrier ($285) comes with another attachment for the front wheel but since I was carrying 2 bikes, I just put the front wheel in the frunk which fits quite well. |

Got both thru my dealer. The black rubber trim in front and behind the sun roof can be lifted and the attachments found underneath. The base support system ($580) comes with a tool that makes it easy to lift up the attachments as well as screw in the base support.

Not a drive per se - A weather pattern passed over the Boulder foothills in the evening and the setting sun provided these amazing photos. I jumped in the car, grabbed the camera and the unfiltered images tell the story.

First is from a soggy Saturday at Calabogie... got the entire track to myself for most of the day in wet/heavy rain conditions. Wow that was fun + interesting. Thankfully it was dry on Sunday and my mods paid off, beat my best lap time from last year by over 9 seconds! :D
The rest are pics on the drive back to Toronto showing the white 997 Turbo S cab I followed/chased back for closed to 90 minutes (strictly at the speed limit of course) as well as the sky + clouds at sunset. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...c8f1589438.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...3f73b8a6d5.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...f48e49cceb.jpg |

To say it has been a labour of love is an understatement... it has taken 18 months and no shortage of mods + money but as it stands now it is damn near perfect. Not to say that there isn't additional mods planned down the road assuming the wife doesn't murder me when another package arrives. :D |

Your car looks great there. A little lower in the rear, more level than in other pictures you've posted. Also, good to know you're liking the KW's after some track time.
Great news is the car handles like a dream at the track... flat through corners, super well balanced, no hint of understeer, and grip for days. I'm sure it is some unholy combination of the tires, springs/ride height, alignment, and corner balance so likely tough to point the finger at any one thing. Gladly though each element is working together very, very well... it was unbelievably fun to drive on the track and easily 2x more confidence inspiring than before.

pfan--The size differential is a function of a wide angle lens distortion (note how the 991 is stretched and distorted more at the rear than the front). The 997 on the right also looks much bigger than the one in the middle. The 991 is bigger, but not nearly that much bigger.

Consider alternate uses According to Porsche: Aerokit Cup This package comprises the SportDesign package (SportDesign front fascia and rear spoiler) as well as a modified front spoiler lip and a fixed-wing profile on the rear spoiler. Tested and refined in the Porsche wind tunnel, the components increase downforce on both axles and improve handling. They also emphasize the 911 sports car’s performance heritage. https://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c...psx6pgb1ub.jpg https://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c...psdxhyqz1q.jpg https://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c...sntiatnfk.jpeg |

I meant to get a shot or 2 along the Deerfield River but it started to get dark. When Rt 2 is freshly or decently paved, the sections from Rt 22 to Rt 7 and from North Adams to Greenfield, are incredible drives and make up for missing a track day. |

First drive in the rain! Temp's are dropping, even here on the mild West Coast of Vancouver Island. Sure notice how the Pirelli's don't like sub 9 degrees Celsius and need much longer to warm up. Perfect season for the 2016 Grand Cherokee Overland CRD and it's 1,100 km cruising range! (8.4L per 100km hwy) |

Here are some recent pictures from a Saturday afternoon drive up Rt 32 and down Rt 29 around Southeastern PA and Central NJ, respectively, along the Delaware River. The drive up Rt 32 is full of twisty backroads with quaint, rustic boutique stores and lodges/inns and little elevation changes. The exact route is on an OS app called GTS Routes. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...aa65d48d78.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...0bfaa2a7e0.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...89019dbf7b.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...fcd80b110b.jpg |

Did a really nice drive on the 3rd. Drove the 150 to Ojai which is a great road, then the 33 past Pine Mountain to the 166 to New Cuyama. The first 30 miles or so of the 166 is pretty basic, but then it gets in to some lovely winding mountain highway (vid). We stopped in Los Olivos for dinner.

Hey GTSwest, nice photos. Looks like a beautiful day on the Saanich Peninsula! We have friends and relatives who have boats out that way. Always try and fly out in the summer/fall to spend some water time with them. We out there in mid/late August last year, went from Desolation Sound up north, down to Roche Harbor in the south. No Pcar time on that trip, all aircraft and boats. But to tell you the truth I am always very happy to be in anyone of the three.
Cheers, |

The Mirage has a nominal TAS (True Air Speed) of about 220 Knots at 24000 feet, That is about 407 KPH. We generally fly it a bit lower, at 16000 to 20000 feet so our speeds are in the 200 TAS knot range, so some 370 KPH. IIRC the flight time, that day, from YYJ (Victoria) to YBW (Springbank, Calgary) was just over two hours.
Flying at 400 KPH , driving at 140+, or sailing at 15+ is all great fun. |

Your center 3rd radiator needs a quick touch up. Our PowerKit cars take a beating on this rad. It's super easy. I did mine last winter during hibernation. Use a medium stuff brush to clean the fins and vacuum. Then, just use the blue painter's tape and mask off all the black plastic trim (needs to be clean, no 303, for example, or else the tape won't stick), and then tape a few sheets of paper on the bumper cover. Hit it with a few light, sweeping, coats of satin black spray paint. Nothing fancy. Will take <45 minutes from start to finish. The painter's tape takes the longest. |

I'd like to do that project and buy/install the grills. There's always something else that takes priority. As much as I used to work on my cars (and loved it) it may only get done if I pay someone else to do it. |

Well this is a "just before" driving pic. I used my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and chose the "Retro" filter. This is what came up! I quite like it! Almost like a cartoon but not exactly. It really brings out the color though!

The wife getting ready to drive a Porsche for the first time. Would not even try to drive the previous ones but after riding in this one is finally ready to enjoy this incredible car.

Got up in to the 60s last week...last bit of warm weather this winter, I think! (Although we really haven't seen much snow yet.)

Nice one Hurricane, I thought that was a GT3 at first glance. Looking good. Agree re the mild winter, and still looks good for the next week:burnout:

Nice! I was at that exact spot two weeks ago! I posted a vid of my journey up Sunrise Hwy. Such a great drive.
https://rennlist.com/forums/991/9687...ain-today.html  I actually saw that video on Youtube while trying to get a feel for the AWE! I said to myself "Hey, I know that road!" |
I wish I had some recent drive pictures! It's been 20 degrees here with snow for a couple of weeks.

You didn't leave much room for the person (likely with a Suburban/Yukon/Escalade) to park behind you. Or maybe that was by design. :D
Wouldn't leave it parked like that for fear of rubbing. |
You need one in front of Wicked Weed.

This is not a drive pic but did not know where else to put it. While awaiting my flight from
Bangkok to Tokyo, saw this being put in the belly of the plane. Someone in Tokyo is not waiting for boat delivery of what looks like a 991.2 Targa |
Cool shot, thanks for posting.
How wonderful not to wait! |

Have to wonder what the freight charge was. Maybe the guy could save a bit by siting in the car during flight?

Wow, what an amazing drive!!
PS: If you allow my humble and well intended feedback, lose the stupid instagram effects. Looks like you had some crisp, high quality pictures to start with, but that blurring effect totally destroys them. |
