Cobb Tuning 991 Carrera S Dyno Results 991.2!!
#32
I've contacted Cobb a few times over the past few months and spoke with Ryan. They are not even giving a rough eta on their tune which means they are still and most likely a ways out. GIAC is pretty respectable outfit also so I may just end up going with their tune.

As others have pointed out we do not have a firm ETA we can provide at this time. We much prefer to under promise and over deliver than vice versa so rather than continually give out dates that end up passing with no release, we keep updates to a minimum until we have firm information.
But- just to give you some clarity on where we are in the development process- Porsche has beefed up security protocols on their new ECUs (as have almost all OEs) and until we have the ability to flash via the OBDII port (which no one has been able to do) as is standard with every Accessport supported vehicle, we will not be releasing a tuning solution for the 718/991.2. However, it most certainly continues to be a when, not an if, scenario and we're still hard at work on the project with many of the required processes completed or near completion. In the meantime, we have some other large industry first releases coming up for Porsche that we're confident the community will be excited about.
Thanks for your patience everyone and as always, if you have any additional questions please feel free to contact us via the methods below:

991.1 S dyno - limp mode
After a lot of searching I finally see Jenner's comment about trying to dyno a 991.1 RWD on the Mustang dyno, only to have the car go crazy into limp mode. I experienced the same, even took out the PASM fuse. Simply cannot get the car to pull max with the ECU going insane and shutting down.
Apart from going to dyno jet, has anyone learned how to "talk" (Porsche scanner?) to the ECU and disable the nannies to allow a RWD dyno test?
Maybe I'm late to the discussion but would love to hear others' advice.
Thanks
