What did you buy your 991 today thread
A little surprised there is not one of these... I'm 30 days into ownership and finally made some decisions on Mods.
Today: Sport front lip Spoiler Tech Art Rear diffuser 3rd radiator ket from Rennline (was 50 bucks less than Suncoast and free shipping) 3Piece bumper mesh grill in Black LED Clear Markers IPE F1 exhaust scheduled for full front plus full quarter panel Exel clear Considering the DC2 suspension hockus pockus |
Great thread idea
|
I bought it insurance. And gas.
|
- Changed glove box and interior door lights to LEDs
- Clear LED front markers - Full front end wrapped with Xpel - Carbotech 1521 brake pads (Fr & R) |
A couple kWh and a few therms. I'm still in winter storage. Will be -3 tomorrow. Hopefully driving by mid March.
|
About $1.27 in electricity through the trickle charger.
|
Today I bought a black, thin 991 GTS engine cover grill for my 991 GTS, which came with the standard 991S grill because I ordered mine with ducktail and Porsche used to only supply that with standard grill, although now they have shipped a GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition with duck and black grill, as detailed elsewhere.
Wish mine had come that way -- on the other hand, it's also nice to get something new after a year, so you keep the thrill alive. Helps keep the "gotta have a new and different car" thought from crossing my mind. Next up: refinishing black GTS wheels to a lighter shade, and 380mm rotors, and rebadging to P O R S C H E ..911 GTS |

Definitely went all in. Nice.
|
I bought my car a full tank of 93 octane gas today.
|
Not purchased today but recently... and pending installation tomorrow. :D
Cargraphic X-Pipe (used but new to me) BMC Air Filters Next Week: Rebadging rear to 'Porsche GTS'. Future: Investigating DSC V2 Controller. We'll see.

I realize this won't be to everyone's taste, but a friend of mine had this Cup car at his shop and I couldn't stop thinking about how cool the sponsorship decals looked on the tires so I had to track them down.
Again, you may not like it, but I think it looks awesome. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...9982e2c47d.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...9ee4fec5b8.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...5213228e93.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...acb67d0533.jpg |

Love the tire stickers!
|
The tire stickers actually look pretty nice... certainly a bit more low key than some others I've seen.
But please, please tell me you're not running Michelin stickers on the stock Pirelli P-Zeros. |

One year ago today (Valentines Day!) I ordered my current 991. (Arrived in early April.)

Installed the LED clear lights today... If anyone is on the fence... A.) do it and B.) get the LEDs. It is not a subtle difference. Pictures will not do this justice.

I wish I could always "gift" my GTS with ethanol-free gasoline............

Updated Euro Maps and got Online Services software retrofitted. This enables the new Real Time traffic via INRIX. Pick up the car tomorrow and we'll see how it works. Apparently I'm the first guy in the Stuttgart area to get Real-time traffic added. It's a must here. Interested to see if INRIX is better than Waze.
Also did the Annual service with oil/filter change and both cabin air filters and two-year brake fluid flush. |

This is going to look GREAT with ducktail and the black accent grill right beneath the ducktail.
Haven't gotten to any of this yet; been chasing the perfect color for the refinish. And I'm just too lazy to replace the letters -- meticulousness is not my forte. May take it to a bodyshop. |

Also did the Annual service with oil/filter change and both cabin air filters and two-year brake fluid flush. Got the car back today and am very impressed with the Aha App functionality in conjunction with Online Services. The real time traffic is light years ahead of the standard blue triangles we get in Europe. The Software Version was updated to 4.76. The map update looks cleaner. As soon as I started the car and plugged in my iPhone to the glove box USB, Aha started on its own and showed a Porsche to Aha link and took about 30 seconds to connect and talk. It automatically toggled "Traffic Data" On in the Vehicle Settings page. Subsequent starts did not need the 30 second handshake. Real time traffic displays almost immediately after starting the car and PCM recognizes the iPhone. From the source menu, just select Aha. The search function for POI is much easier and immediately interfaces with the Nav function so there is no more hunting and pecking to find a POI through the PCM Navi function. I have had a mount for my iPhone so I could see Waze as it was light years ahead of the traffic receiver prior to integrating online services and Aha. I don't think I need Waze anymore so this will clean up the cockpit immensely. We streamed some 80s radio channels through Aha. We haven't had Satellite Radio for almost five years being overseas, so this is awesome to now have. Tons of channels, so I have some research to do. I'll be figuring out more of the benefits of adding Online Services and Aha functionality in the next few weeks. |

I cannot however recall if the RTT worked or not... |
If you don't plug in via USB you will not get RTT. RTT just got released in the last few weeks over here, so you need to see your dealer to get the map update and install online services if you didn't get it as an option. If you have Sirius/XM traffic option and a subscription, you may get RTT, but someone in the US would have to confirm that. Bluetooth streaming and Waze killed my iPhone battery inside of 30 minutes so I always plug into USB which keeps you at 100% all day long.

|
Had the four year service done today. New plugs, filters and IPD plenum, really woke up my car. An ear to ear grin. The air filters were very dirty and the plugs showed signs of equal wear and coloration. Also, should have my new Carrera Classics from Suncoast by Monday. The previous owner lived in a rough area of the North Bay and the original Classics took a beating. I also replaced both headers to do away with a dented pipe. And replaced the twin tips, that were tar burnt pretty bad, with a pair of stock used tips from a dealer back east for $200. They're in like new condition. I sent back the X51 Kit because of the mileage ($$$) restrictions. Bearings and such needed to be replaced if engine had over 25,000 miles. That was disappointing.
Next. A really good wax job this weekend and conditioning the leather. |
I took mine out of winter hibernation. First drive since Nov 1.
|
Stuffed the symposer full of foam to get rid of the PSE howl/drone. Haven't driven it yet to check but looking forward to it tomorrow.

Black Zunnsport grills for. 991 C4s right and left front openings. Now I just need to clean up some laser jammer wiring and I can install the grills. Photos, etc. forthcoming.
|
Worked my wheels over: ONR, Tarminator, clay, Opti GlossCoat -- about 1.5 hrs per and about $9 in materials per wheel. I'm surprised how many chips in the wheels there are after just 8k miles, geesh. Getting out for a ride today, first since mid-October. Bam!

I wonder if I'm going to win 'most unusual present'...
Have had my driver's seat stuffed with memory foam to provide more lumbar support and cushioning behind the knees. I have had a fair few back problems and the 4-way sports plus seats I have left me aching after long journeys and just never felt quite supportive enough. I went up to Autotrim in Manchester and spent an hour driving around with different numbers of foam slabs in different places. Once I settled on a configuration they rebuilt the seat for me. I'll post some photos tomorrow if it's dry enough to put the top down, but Autotrim's workmanship was first rate. The seat looks like it came 'enhanced' from the factory - they cut and stitched in new bits of alcantara and everything. Anyway, it now feels unbelievably good. Kind of like sitting on a very supportive cloud, or like the car is giving me a hug each time I get in it. Which is nice. I really do recommend Autotrim for anyone in the UK. I made a 300-mile round trip to see them (I know poor me, right?) and it was totally worth it. They do all kinds of interior repairs and replacements and also offered to sell me the yellow seat belts I wanted for way less than Porsche charge (sadly, those had already arrived at the dealer). |

Pioneer AVIC-8000NEX Stereo Upgrade
A few guys commented on my original post about my stereo upgrade that I was planning soon after purchasing my 911 GTS. I have attached photos of the job. Custom Car Stereo in Houston did a fabulous job of making it look as stock as possible. For less than the Burmester, I was able to get my new stereo plus a few extra goodies. Currently, I had my Pioneer AVIC-8000NEX that I had in my Cayman GTS installed in this car. I am driving the stock speakers with a JL Audio XD/600/6 that produces 600 W of power. It is amazing how much better they sound with a clean amp. I am driving my JL Audio TW5v2 13" subwoofer with JL Audio XD600/1v2 600 W for a total of 1,200 W. My Pioneer can play FLAC (192/24) and ALAC (48/24). I took pictures with the rear seats up and down. As you can see, it does not impair my view through my rear window. I do not notice the sub through my rear view mirror unless I try to look for it. I also had them install my Valentine 1 with a concealed module and Bluetooth dongle. When you run custom sweeps on the V1 and I am Beta-testing a new iPhone app for the V1, it cuts down unnecessary beeps to a minimum. I also had them install AL Priority "Parking Sensors". Sorry for the dusty image on the concealed ALP module.

I don't need the spout because this is for disposal only. I can fit up to 10 quarts of oil on this. Also, the big opening makes it easier for transferring from oil pan.

Gee, I didn't think my car felt numb, sloppy or imprecise. :( I'd be interested to hear some feedback from folks that buy this.

Clear LED reflectors. I can't wait to install them because they look so much better than the orange ones.

Bought a smartTop for my new to me 991.1 cabriolet. Just in time for spring. For anyone interested, Pelican parts (no affiliation) seems to have the best price for it. I went through their entire vendor list.

Yep, I had one on my 997 that I just traded in. Literally took less than 10 minutes to install. One of my favorite mods for the cabriolet. Wish the features were just standard...

We use the "Ultimate Cup Holders" all the time in older P cars and BMWs... Great location

I de-tinted yesterday. I bought the car in Utah, and it had very dark tint on the back 3 windows, and about 30% on the sides. It was a little much for Minnesota (and illegal, not that I cared much). Pretty psyched about going to a more stock look. |
SmartTop purchased, cant wait!

1) Does that BendPak just store flat--can it simply be stored under your car? 2) You mean our 991's don't have stainless braided lines as standard? |

Depending on how high you place it, it blocks the cup holder. I'm able to place mine low enough to use the cup holder; however, you need to make sure the drink will not produce a lot of condensation to prevent it from dripping on your phone.

I bought it a track day at NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling a Green, KY.

Exhaust Tips (Thanks 77Tony)
Many months ago Tony put up for sale a pair of aftermarket exhaust tips, then he found Gudrun and decided to wait to see if he wanted to keep the GTS black tips or swap out. He decided to stay with the black tips so I benefited from a good deal. They arrived over the weekend and I got them installed today. Look to be very good quality - and I don't know the offshore source (Tony?). Installation was 5 minutes with a 12-point ⅜ socket (and some help from a rubber mallet). Then another 20-25 minutes fussing with adjusting the tips relative to the car and to each other. Worth it in the end. Thanks Tony!
Here are a couple of pics with the old ones resting on the plastic bubble wrap - sorry, I forgot to snap a "before" shot. ghl https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...0f5737940c.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...d61c884b3c.jpg |

IMHO nicer to look at and beefier than the stock tips. Gave all reciepts to new owner of the 50th, maybe he will chime in on where to source them. T |

Do the bigger tips make it significantly louder, or is it more a visual thing?

Blendmount installed with Escort Max 360. The first Blendmount did not have enough vertical adjustment. They shipped a replacement extension section. If you order one, make sure you let them know that you need the longer extension, otherwise the radar will be jammed against the mirror and even then not horizontal! Looks good now. Just got to get it wired to the fusebox :-)

http://www.vboxmotorsport.com/images...apTimerApp.jpg Here's a great thread to read about it from FergusH: https://rennlist.com/forums/data-acq...precision.html TWS is Texas World Speedway. TWS is one of only seven Super Speedways in the USA and is the only Super Speedway in the Southwest. TWS's oval became known as "The World's Fastest Speedway" when Mario Andretti set a world closed course speed record of 214.158 mph on October 6, 1973 while qualifying for an Indy car race. Many clubs track their cars there. It will be my first time at this course. Everyone that has tracked their cars there have raved about it. The track needs repair and many rumors about its closing so I am trying to get out there before that happens. |

Just popped in a Mods4Cars SmartTop module for my Targa.
Great little mod. Easy install....took about a half hour. Now I can raise or lower top with a single button click from inside the car (leaving windows up at the end), double click (to leave windows down), or via the key fob (3 clicks of unlock to leave windows up....or 4 clicks of unlock to leave windows down). Works like a champ!!! |

I know Suntek paint protection has been chatted about quick ask, were does the car chip the most ?
Local person using Suntek will do bumper, hood, fenders, headlights, wing mirrors, rockers and splash guard (in front of rear wheels at the bottom) for 1500 total. - do I need to do the rear quarter panel complete ? Will it chip in the back of the rear wheel ? - do I need to do the front fenders behind the front wheels at the bottom ? - just do partial front fenders and hood ? Any help would be grateful, of were you get the most chipping and debris, so I know were the value add is and not . Thank you |

Thank you I would thus advise getting a race kit (front bumper, full hood, all of front fenders, mirrors) rockers and side skirts, rear fenders in front of rear wheel, painted surface inside of rear wheel arches, and the painted bottom of the rear skirt behind the rear wheels. My windshield is also pretty pitted, so you may want to think about options to protect that too. |

Two new tow hooks from Rennline for my GT3.
|
I installed the extended height center console in black to add to my two tone interior. I followed the dIY thread found here on RL. Excellent info too but I did find the seatbelt trim pieces (see pics) a bit challenging to release. All other info was excellent! I really like the look and the comfort of this "mod"! Is it worth $355? Idk, but it was my bday! And there is definitely more room under the lid now (holds a LC9 mm nicely)!

Type of suds you use is also important. I use Honeydew Snow Foam Car Wash Soap and add WARM water to the foam cannon. I think this helps to get the most suds+foam per buck.

Any thoughts would be appreciated! I drive them to the track, which in my case can be up to 8-10 hours away, but I don't daily drive them. It would be possible but they will get noisy and they work best when hot, which is rarely the case on the street. |

I just got a new Alcantara steering wheel to replace the leather one for my C4 GTS Cab. I bought the car as a demo from a Porsche dealer so didn't have the option to configure it.
I wanted the Alcantara steering wheel for two reasons. Firstly, my GT3 has an Alcantara steering wheel and I have grown to love it. Secondly, during the first couple if days of ownership, I briefly left the car in my driveway with the top down. When I hoped in the car, the leather steering wheel was so hot, I could not touch it. Alcantara wheel solves this problem. Not sure what I will do with the leather steering wheel now. |

Interested to know about your Xpel story too. Currently I have the front and half hood protected (unknown brand - done by dealer/previous owner). I am planning on replacing the half hood with full hood. Also looking into the rear fenders. I noticed a uniform collection of minor rock chips appearing on both sides above the P factory installed shark fin rear wheel protection. Planning to use Xpel. Installed has 3M too Thanks |

A quick call to Blendmount and a longer section was shipped. Perfect now. If you find a fuse that will turn off when the ignition is turned off (i.e. radio, wipers) and tap into that fuse, the RD will turn off when the car is turned off.

Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, KW Height Adjustable Springs, Pagid RS29 brake pads plus brake fluid flush. All confirmed/ordered and being installed next week Friday.
Will probably need to add a new Aerokit front lip shortly as well depending on how much we drop it. Aiming for GT3 ride height. :D |

XPEL installed by Chris at "All in The Details" in Morristown NJ: http://www.allinthedetailsnj.com
When I purchased the car the front end and half the hood was covered. I got the full hood section replaced with XPEL. I also noticed some very light rocks chips appearing on the rear fender above the P Sharks Fin! Decided to get the rear fender and rocker section done also. Very pleased with the quality of Chris' work. He even wraps the edges under the panel (where he can). |

Not sure if the installer did something special at the fusebox - but they said that is the way they always set them up.

Okay...I'll join the party....Planned this for a while every since I picked up my new to me CPO '13 Carrera S in trade for my '14 Cayman S both in Agate Gray. Car was nicely optioned with SPASM, PDK, and a few other goodies but lacked two things specifically I'd wanted. Those were PSE and the moonroof option. Thought the car was rather sedate with the OEM regular mufflers and kinda dark inside with the standard sunroof so after a bit of research and also quite a bit of Q&A between my dealer's Master Porsche Technician, Porsche, and a few aftermarket vendors...I added:
1) OEM Porsche Moonroof retrofit 2) PSE console and vaccum tube retrofit 3) PSE programming for #2 4) Rennline Front Bumper Grilles [black] 5) OEM Porsche Center Radiator kit 6) Akrapovic Ti Catback Sport Performance Exhaust 7) MACarbon CF interior trim retrofit (dash & center console) 8) IPD 991 Pleneum 9) 991.2 GT Multifunction Steering wheel 10) 991.2 Steering wheel Airbag All of the above except item #7 were done by my dealer service dept while I handled the CF interior retrofit myself as a DIY (took me about 30 mins over an evening beef along with re-packing my OEM silver trim). The GT4 991.2 wheel does directly bolt on and work with the 991.1 generation cars...HOWEVER the multi-function controls do no code and the dealer couldn't get the new wheel controls to recognize and activate/work on the tester. So they replaced my old OEM wheel back on the car. Options include A) obtaining the 991.2 multi-function control module and seeing if that can be installed to control the wheel and also talk to the car's as well OR B) getting either a 991.1 Sports Design wheel + MF stalk or a 991.2 GT wheel minus controls and adding the MF stalk from the 991.1. Technician is not sure if option A) will work and I am willing to try IF the 991.2 module is returnable/refundable. Otherwise its likely option B as the OEM 991.1 MF wheel is just an eyesore to me. Not attractive at all. My old 981 Cayman S was ordered with the Sports Design wheel for a reason! If so will just sell the 991.2 MF wheel and airbag since they were special order items. Must say MACarbon's quality and service was outstanding! Even included a tool kit to remove the parts and a CF cleaning kit also. Top notch parts and quality for all. My AZ dealer did a great job on the car and I was pleased with the result and even the overall cost...until the car was hit by an SUV driver 3 days later during a trip to Las Vegas while leaving a casino parking garage...but that's another story and post. Didn't get to take many pics post upgrade for you guys due to the trip then accident [vehicle is now at the body shop] but will do so when I get it back out of the body shop...hopefully soon. |
WOW!!!
Those are some extensive and great mods. Way to make the car the way you want it. Hope the damage wasn't too bad. I agree with you, the .1 MF wheel should be killed with fire and to my eye, the .1 Sport Design wheel is one of the best looking steering wheels ever made. It was a must have for me. I see a number of folks looking to "upgrade" their .1 with the new .2 wheel but the only thing I am not in love with on the new .2 cars is the steering wheel. Wonder if I can do a down grade once I get my .2 CS? |
Keen to know when you get the 991.2 steering wheel mod working
|
Ok, I just took delivery of my 99.2 Targa 4S. I purchased the clear LED side markers from Suncoast. Dealer told me he would install at N/C for me. When I went to pick up my tags and get new markers installed the salesman informed me that because they are LED, there is a chance of them messing with the PCM, getting fault codes and making me responsible if anything happens. He said if I would replace those lights with regular bulb lights there would not be an issue. I looked at my current OEM orange markets and LOOK LIKE LED's!!! Does anyone know if the new 991.2 have stock LED side markers??

Hi guys-
Well it looks like I'm not the the only one that really wanted the new .2 steering wheel for my '13 CS2 Cab. I found this one on eBay. This one is the non-multifunction PDK version. These are "remanufactured" wheels. Meaning they are OEM parts that are re-wrapped to make them slightly thicker and with the 12 o'clock red ring on mine. They also used a nice light grey stitch that looks awesome. This is a real upgrade. One thing I didn't realize is how much quicker the paddles are. The travel is VERY short. Like probably half the travel of my standard sport wheel. It makes shifting gears even more fun. Just a slight pull changes gears. So cool. I also want to point out how much this changes the feel of the whole car. It's got a real premium chunkiness to it. Tough to describe. I bought this with the airbag and doing it myself was a snap. Just like the alcantara wheel I replaced. Also, I think it just looks EPIC. Thanks- Alec BTW- I'll be putting my alcantara wheel, arm rest and shift lever in the classifieds soon. Great condition if you're interested. I will also have the original airbag for sale too. |

Had my car corner balanced yesterday along with an adjustment to the alignment, made it slightly more aggressive to help on some upcoming track days. As part of the process had my shop adjust the ride height as well, since installing the KW HAS kit the car settled more than expected and was riding a bit too low... lower than GT3 ride height actually. Much better now and feels fully dialed in, big test will be Sat morning at the track. Can't wait.
Also Pagid yellow pads continue to squeak like a mother around town... hopefully with some hard work this weekend they will bed in and calm down a bit. :D |

How do you like the painted spoiler? I was thinking of doing the same.
|
I like the painted spoiler lip. But I scuffed on a curb b4 I was used to parking it. I've got a quote to mask it off and paint for $150. I thought it could just b popped off without removing the entire bumper cover.
Does anybody know if it just clips in, or if the bumper cover needs to b removed? |

Porsche Roof Transport system! Can't wait to take the bike to wine country and enjoy those back roads on 2 wheels and 4!

Recently picked up:
- OEM accordion style sunshade (got a local dealer to match suncoast, I usually get the covercraft from autoanything.com but this was the same price or cheaper and included P branding and a storage bag). - License plate frame security caps (http://www.suncoastparts.com/product/SKUPFSC.html). Call me crazy, but one time while parked outside an old G35 coupe had its license plate stolen by car thieves who had stolen a different G35, which resulted in a long DMV line wait for me. The plate frame bolt caps on my OEM license plate frame pretty much instantly fell off and I replaced them with these. - Porsche classic tire gauge (apparently this has a Bourdon mechanism. I plan to supplement my accutire with this, as I recently had a TPMS display issue that makes me question the accuracy of both my accutire and the PCM's TPMS). I think at this point it's just an SSK and getting her Xpeled... |

Not purchased today but finally installed earlier, TPC Racing Stage 1 Suspension kit aka sway bars + drop links. Only had a very brief test drive following install but very, very impressed with the change to turn in feel and overall stability during aggressive cornering.
The guy at my shop who runs a GT3 Cup program took it for a road test + shake down and he said he LOVES the feel of the car now with the KW HAS kit, DSC v2, Sport Cup 2 tires, and TPC sway bars. He said it now feels better than a 991 GT3 but he was likely just pumping up my tires given my recent investment with him. :D Real test of course is next track day on Sept 13th, looking forward to it! |

Aaand seems like I answered my own question by having a look through the options on the KW site. HAS kit is springs only. Got it.
Question then becomes: did you notice an improvement in handling when you lowered the car, or was it more a cosmetic enhancement? Thanks! |

Ordered the AWE Wind Diffusers. Great service from AWE. Parts arrived in 4 days. Easy installation. I hate reading instructions and I'm a klutz at assembling things. So .... my wife did everything. Took about 10 minutes for the first door as she wasn't sure how hard she could pull and tug to remove the first piece. Second door took about 4 minutes. The Wind Diffusers work as advertised. A quick test to 115 and the cabin was dead silent.

I bought my 991 an Xpel ppf, in Stealth. Turns out the wrap, while good at protecting the paint from the ravages of urban foxes, was less than useless at protecting against stone chips and so ended up more full of holes than the case for Britain leaving the European Union (sorry). So I ditched it and went for paint protection, with a slight difference. For those who don't know, Xpel Stealth is like the regular Xpel Ultimate, but with a matte finish. It looks pretty cool on metallic paint imo, as one can still see all the flecks in and depth to the colour.

By the way, I am a British expat living in the US, so nice to see some British street shots :-) Only slight caveat at the moment is that it doesn't appear to be 'self-healing' as the marketing suggests. I have a few little chip marks which have not gone away. My installer says this isn't normal and has sent the pictures to Xpel, who agree. Taking the car in this Friday and leaving it with them for investigation. |

Hey Vise, give a review on those sway bars after you try them out. My KW HAS went on today. Those sway bars may be my next mod. As for the sway bars... they are installed but I've only had a very limited opportunity to do any spirited driving. Immediate feedback after a few aggressive on/off ramps is that turn-in feels sharper and overall the car is more planted + stable during aggressive cornering. They do however make some clicking/tapping noise at low speeds due to the drop links included for the front... it is somewhat noticeable but not a huge deal IMO, at least not so far anyways. The real test will be in two weeks at my next track day, stay tuned... and also make sure you post some pics of your car with the KW HAS kit installed! |
991.1 C2S Cab mods
Bought a 991.1 C2S cab in agate grey earlier this year and so far can highly recommend the mods I've done, all are fully reversible so far:
- paint protection film - mod4cars SmartTOP -must-have for cabs - Brodit (Proclip in US) Centre console mount + iPhone 6 tilt-swivel active holder with cig plug: the fixed black lightning cable runs easily under the trim to the glovebox where it's usb end can be removed from the cig plug if desired. I also bought their 15deg wedge angle spacer (fits between mount and holder) to orient the phone more towards the driver when in place This setup took a lot of trial and error and buying and returning different parts but v happy with the result, much better than my previous Ram mount + windshield suction cup solution - t-design sunglasses holster (edit: works fine with Brodit mount in place too on same side, after some customisation by t-design) |

Had detail/paint correction completed by Robert at Auto Concierge with Suntek PPF installed by Evan at Pacific Auto Films. Car came out spectacular in my opinion. Robert is a master at his craft and really went above and beyond on my car. The PPF is a custom install on the hood, front bumper and fenders, mirrors, rockers and rear fender arches. While I'm certainly no expert, I have seen a fare share of PPF intalls with exposed seams etc. and I was hesitant at first to go this route, but I figured if I was going to invest in having the extensive paint correction I should a least protect the front end. The film came out great. Here are a few pics:

I did this mod a few days ago and got black as well. Does it completely match the black in your interior? After installing mine I noticed the lid is a bit brighter compared to the rest of my interior. It's subtle though and not a big deal for me. I'm assuming maybe its my existing leather looking darker because its more aged. at least i hope... |

IPD Plenum and BMC air filters Installed
Wanted to thank this great group on Rennlist for the knowledge gained with my first Porsche. A lot of interesting ideas and a wealth of information to be mined. Recommendations from the 991 And other forums led me to Chris Sterling and WTC Motorsports in Mission Veijo, CA. He received very positive reviews from members who have used his services so went to check out his shop and projects earlier in the week. Impressed with both Chris and his facilities and after spending the time to review what I wanted to accomplish with car now and looking forward I was comfortable having him do the work. He and I have similar philosophies on oil change frequency and 7500 miles is pushing it for me so had him service the oil as well.
As as I write this the performance upgrades are installed and I'll reload the ECU map after a few runs with the stock map and compare. Sweeter engine sounds with the added intake air on the way home and happy with my choice so far. Just a FNG when it comes to tenure on Rennlist but I know quality work and performance cars and recommend members in the OC area to check out Chris' work. Oh and did I mention he did the work for a reasonable price. |

I filled mine with 97 Octane today, as I always do. Does this mean the fuel we are using in the UK is a higher grade to US or is it measured differently.
MON (Motor Octane Number) AKI (Anti-Knock Index) - typically used in the US. Often written as (R+M)/2) Approximately.... 95 RON = 90-91 AKI 97 RON = 92-93 AKI So really it's just the numbers appear lower in the US for the same fuel. However, I think you can get higher octane fuel in the UK at some regular pumps. |

I am struggling with whether to buy snow tires. We don't get a lot of snow here, and I only drive it to keep the battery charged in the winter on nice days. |
Look into Harbor Freight for the pneumatic stool.

I added stickers of tracks I've run. I wanted it to be very subtle. :)

Ordered from Suncoast all the emblems for the butt of the car. I hate chrome and will now have black like the GTS.
The problem will be getting them on perfectly. |

I also ordered an AWE Switchpath exhaust from TAG. Will hopefully be installed here in the next two weeks. |
BMC's and silver hood crest. *and 15mm spacers. Will add 5mm to front, LED high beams, then off to the clear bra guys to bomb proof the quarter panels. Tinkering with Swithpath as well.

That's pretty cool, how'd you do that or who did it for you.
I'm having a whole system put in (just music, no armaments!). Have speakers and amps at the moment and it's definitely got potential (I'm hearing details in music I'd no idea were there, and it goes extremely loud with no distortion) but currently the sound overall is a bit of a mess because I'm breaking the speakers in before AutoAudio install a digital signal processor, which is apparently the last piece of the puzzle (12vNick may have told me so...). This allows the signal from the head unit to be fettled in general and have a time delay put on it, so the driver's side speakers play fractionally after the passenger ones, and a proper stereo image can be achieved. I'll of course write a full review when it's all done. In the meantime, here's what the frunk looks like now: https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...954d69e2b6.jpg |
What the heck? Where are your backseat passengers going to put their arms?
Seriously, that is one perfect installation. |

Was done by Auto Audio Installations in Park Royal, NW London. It's a pretty crazy place - got everything from a LaFerrari whose stock stereo apparently isn't good enough for somebody, to 50s Mercedes having total cosmetic refurb, to a DB11 being fitted out with (I kid you not) air compressors to make the sounds of all of James Bond's guns.

You must be paying a small fortune for it. I know I cannot afford such a sound upgrade, so I went for my own dumb down/cheap version -- a pill speaker on the back armrest! :to_order: :bigbye: |
