Rennline Front Bumper Wire Mesh Grill
For those of you who have purchased the Rennline front mesh grills ... are rocks able to enter through the openings? Right now my air intakes are housing a family of small rocks that can be cleaned out with a pressure washer. Once the mesh grills are installed I assume this area is essentially impossible to clean out. Appreciate any input.
Here's the product link for anyone else who is considering purchasing them...

I like the idea of these grills because leaves and stuff always get into that area but I just looked at the installation instructions and you need to remove the front bumper cover ... kind of sounds like a lot of work.

Yup. Not only small rocks and pebbles, but small leaves will get in there too. I have not figured a way to clean out behind the grills yet.

Burning Brakes
The bumper needs to come off -installation at my local Porsche certified body shop was $300-$400. I do not have parking sensors or adaptive cruise control.
The purpose of the grills is to protect the radiators, so you have to weigh full access to the inner space against radiator damage. I was surprised that after less than a few hundred miles and not tailgating, there were already several bent radiator fins and tons of bugs and debris in there. No longer a problem since the grills were installed. They are set deep back into the openings and are easy to clean out from the front. No reason to go behind them yet. In short, I wouldn't go without them based on my first hand experience.

I had these grills and liked the protection they offered but had difficulty keeping all the leaves and track marbles out once they worked their way in, which they did. I tried my air compressor, water, long sticks, wire, everything. I've since removed them.

With the amount of larger pebbles and debris I cleaned out of the front when I removed the bumper to install the screens ..... I'll put up with the smaller stuff even if I have to remove the bumper once a year to do a cleaning.
Positives out weigh any negatives that I see.

If you DIY it's pretty straight forward to install the grills.

I have spoken to a couple of Porsche lead technicians. In a combined period of 10 years, they have replaced 2 radiators due to road debris and interestedly they were on the same car owned by the same person.
