Default Car Transport Services Recommendations

Apologies if this is covered in a dozen other threads, but a search did not immediately return the info.

I am seeking recommendations for car transport services for a long distance car purchase.

TIA.

Thanks. Those are great. Edit: actually not so great...not much useful info contained therein.

I typed "car transport" in the Rennlist search window.

Lots of discussion available, but check the Marketplace section above for site sponsors Angels and Intercity, and PCA sponsor Reliable Carriers. Most Porsche dealers will have their favorites as well. Good luck. I've only done it once, but it worked out great for me. It's what these carriers do.

I just wanted to share some honest, non biased info here. I got a few quotes to ship my 991 C2S from San Francisco area to Chicago area, and below is what I found:
Troy Car Inc: $1600
Transport Auto: $1650
Intercity: $1795
Luxury shippers: $2200
LAP auto transport: $2950
Reliable: 6-8 weeks (no quote)

Most of the prices were pretty close, so a couple hundred dollars wasn't going to make or break my decision. I did some research and found that Troy out of New Jersey appeared to be a solid (non brokered) service. All deliveries are made on their personal trucks, and are door to door. From what I read all their trucks have lift gates, not ramps..which I like.

I did ask to have some wheels shipped with the car, and Troy agreed for another $100 (now $1700 total), and Transport auto said no additional charge...so $1650, however I just felt more comfortable going with Troy because I know its a smaller company and I was able to find pictures of their fleet, which look like great trailers.

*** Stay tuned for an update on my experience with Troy. Should be taking delivery second week of December.

Just a bit of information, Intercity doesn't do North/South ex. Ohio to Florida. They only go east to west and visa versa. I have used this Co. for the last two years, and have been very pleased.

Might not be the least expensive but I have always had good luck with Horseless Carriage.

I've used Horseless Carriage twice. Not inexpensive, but they show up when they say they will.
