GTS noise level dB?

Hello fellow 991 crew! Am thinking of taking new GTS on track at Bedford this weekend. Noise limit is 101bB. Anyone know if the GTS passes this? I know GT3s struggle to stay under the dB limit, with drivers forced to short-shift. How does the GTS fare?

I'd love to know the answer to this also ... my GT3 pretty much fails sound at Laguna Seca w/95-96Db reading using a sharkwerks bypass...

I have a bad feeling that the "throttle overrun" and associated "burble" might spike the exhaust

have you tried a smartphone sound meter app? problem is the exhaust is likely to exceed the microphone sensitivity limits ...

Out of curiosity, why are there limits, nearby residential areas?

that's it ... and in the case of Laguna Seca, the track was there before the houses, then homeowners complained about the noise - and voila noise
limits in the low 90's ...

I just played with a phone sound meter - doesn't look like the mic is sensitive
enough to measure an exhaust :(

I would have to think you are safe for 101db.

I'll let you know in March if the GTS can pass 90db at Laguna. :-(

I'd agree that 101 is probably safe

my guess is that the moment the flaps open - you are done ... :crying:

you can try short shifting past the sound booth, but in all honesty the mobile
mic will probably get you :(

Exhaust fangs pointed down and away?

Bedford Autodrome?

Yup - Bedford Autodrome. Not exactly Laguna Seca or Silverstone, but good enough for a mid-January hoon.

Do they still do the static test making you rev to around 5k with a sound
meter a few feet from the back of the car?

:(

They do

Sound readings are influenced by atmospheric conditions and for on track readings, location. Obviously if the location is where your car is close to redline, higher numbers. And Laguna has some of the most restricted noise levels in the US (Lime Rock too) except on the few pro weekends. Cars that are normally unmuffled need them at LS.

At Roebling Road, we have the same problem. Only this is the church next to the track. We got around it by cutting the top and bottom out of a Pepsi can, a single cut down the side, affix to the exhaust tip with wire, and diverting the exhaust towards the infield.

I would think that the simple solution is to leave PSE off. I can't recall if it can be turned off in sport +.
