Default Possible to lower c4s with spam -10mm pdcc to sport spam height -20mm?

I know with pdcc you don't want to mess around with the suspension...but that extra -10mm looks so good. or can i just go with after market springs?

oops i got the acronyms all messed up....pasm and sport pasm. i was hungry when i was posting this.

Yes.

H&R has a set #28880-2 But I bet there's a few more that will work with PASM.

^^what CSK said...
The H&R set is a great way to go with PASM cars to get the same drop as basically a S-PASM equipped car. There are several other options out there including fully adjustable setups, but with PDCC cars the choice is limited somewhat.
As for you having a C4S the install of springs on the front suspension is a bit more difficult than on a C2/S... You will have to pull the wheel carrier off, disconnecting the driveshaft and other bits. Totally doable for someone handy or a shop that has worked on all-wheel drive cars but for a novice can be scary... Oh and did I mention the special tools you'll need? If you need any details on the install let me know-- yes I have the official factory WM for removing and installing spring / strut assemblies. LOL

+1 STG, but as noted, lowering C4/4S up front a bit more complicated by the final drive shaft. That thread is great for reference, but I don't think there was a single mention of AWD until the very end where someone mentioned they weren't sure if the AWD model cars springs are different or not....

Hi all, relating to this thread, can anyone point me to the right way to lower a C2 by 10-15mm basically inline with a C2S i dont want to go much beyond that as this is a DD, and have lots of steep car parks to navigate.

Thanks

I think those guys @ Elephant (or equivalent) would be good to ask. They've done some amazing suspension posts on 6Speed and maybe here? Any changes in springs have domino effects and doing it right is critical.

Some good reading:

Obviously a very complete overhaul. Not a cheap job.

You can get your car to the same 10mm drop as an "S" car by adding aforementioned springs from H&R or competitor. The S cars have PASM as standard equipment, making them sit 10mm lower than non-S cars (unless you optioned PASM on a non-S....). So that's the first question for you -- did you add PASM? If not, just add the springs.

Thanks for this, i should've mentioned that my C2 is non-pasm, so essentially i want to get to the same ride height as the Pasm specced models.

The h&r sprengs above lower it by 1" i'd like to go no more than 0.5" if possible, would it be just a matter of installing the pasm springs??

I have Sport Pasm and it was still to high for my liking so I purchased a brand new set of TechArt springs from a Rennlister. These are the perfect height in my opinion. .5 inch drop in front and .25 inch drop in the rear. Very close to GT3 height which is what I was looking for!

Based on my research and preference, the H&R's are too low...

The TechArt's are about 10% stiffer ride than stock SPAM. The .5 inch drop, lower center of gravity and slightly stiffer spring makes a big difference in not only looks but handling. The best modification so far, right behind my Fabspeed Valvetronic X pipe with the stock cans, also purchased from a Rennlister!

My car might not have the most horsepower, lowest ride height, widest tires, et cetera, but man I'm in Porsche Nirvana every time I drive this thing! The handling along with the NA open valve exhaust sound is like nothing else.

Before w/ SPAM

After w/ TechArt

h'mm I actually thought that the PASM-S -10mm lower springs would end up being the same, or lower than lowering PASM w/techART springs - I guess not - although I have to say your "before" photo looks to me like "PASM" ride height and *not* PASM-S ...

Yep, my car is a factory Pasm-S (SPASM)...it could be the photo angle is throwing off the ride height a bit.

I was told by the distributor that the TechArt's are a hair lower than Pasm-S which turns out to be .5 inches/.25 inches, front/rear respectively. Doesn't sound like a lot but big difference in person.

Actually 1/2 inch lower than SPASM is quite a bit. A half inch is roughly 12mm, PASM is 10mm lower than normal with SPASM being another 10mm lower than PASM. Yours is even yet another notch lower than SPASM at an addional 12mm (which puts you at 32mm lower than normal/base ride height). And the H&Rs are even lower than that?

When I measured SPASM vs Techart, the difference was > 10mm so 12mm should be right give or take a mm or two.

Quick Reply: Possible to lower c4s with spam -10mm pdcc to sport spam height -20mm?
