I've had the intermittent stumble/hiccup issue (in the 2-3K RPM zone) so we'll see if it's a fix.
I have to say my car feels fantastic after the update. I've driven about 50 miles so far and it has been hiccup/stumble free. Even did some slow acceleration tests through the 2-3K RPM range in 5th/6th/7th gear and it was very smooth. The shifts have really smoothed out as well.... most of the time I could not even feel them at all.

All my driving today was in sport/automatic PDK mode.

Will update after I rack up more miles tomorrow.

The invoice said that I receive the WF86 DME Reprogram.

I saw this on Planet 9 concerning the WF86 DME reprogramming. Doesn't sound like it would have anything to do with the engine stumble issue, especially for manual transmission cars:

I received the following description from Porsche for the WF86 campaign "Due to a software error in the DME control unit, there is a possibility that diagnostic information for the PDK control unit will not be further processed correctly by the DME control unit on the affected vehicles."

Maybe it is a different campaign for Caymans, but seems like it would be a different campaign number if that was the case. Has anyone actually read the text from Porsche describing this DME reprogramming campaign?

It just could have reset everything and once I drive a few more times it will come back .... but we can be hopeful.

Just checked with my service guy and my car is NOT listed as needing the WF86 campaign. Perhaps it is a PDK-only thing? Mine is MY 2013, 991 3.4, 7MT.

I had my 2015 GTS with PDK in yesterday for a state safety inspection and was told that I had the WF86 DME reprogram due on my car. I just had it in for its first service in January and there were no open campaigns on my car at that time. I was in the service department when the tech did mine and he showed me the documentation for the service campaign. In my case, it was related to the PDK. The documentation said something about the DME possibly not reading data from the PDK correctly which could result in a check engine light when there was no problem.

My DME and PDK were both reprogrammed. The tech also said there was a DME reprogramming that also effected the instrument cluster, but my car did not need that.

The dealer did the WF86 update this week on my 2015 Carrera S with PDK and 15,000 miles when it was in for replacing a leaking transmission oil cooler. I have never had the stumble issue. I cannot feel any difference in the PDK or engine performance on my 50 mile drive back home. I did notice on the freeway with the auto start button turned on for the coast feature (picks up about 2 mpg) that it only dropped to 950 rpm idle during coast . . . it used to drop to about 850 rpm.

I have a 2015 991 GTS Cab with PDK - 1700 miles 1st Birthday so booked for oil change. Dealer said I need the WF86 reprogramming. I did not ask questions. Getting it updated on Saturday + oil change and I requested the PCM update because it crashed twice. I am on PCM V4.73. I believe V4.76 is the current one - correct?

This is the wording from the Service Confirmation email - not sure why it says Boxster/Cayman. I have a 991!

"Requested Services:

- CUSTOMER REQUESTS UPDATE PCM SOFTWARE
- WF86 - Re-programming DME Control Unit (MY 2013 up to 2016 Boxster / Cayman)
- CUSTOMER REQUESTS OIL CHANGE AND FILTER"

Strange. I have the same model and my dealer said my car did not need the update. Is it possible that some GTS cars with MY 2015 do not require the update? Dealer pulled the information from my VIN..

Pulled the info from my VIN too. The VIN sticker on drivers door side says 01/2015 build same as the Build Sheet. The car warranty start was March 31 2015. On the road in April 2015.

Let's see!
