Steering debate: SportDesign vs Multifunction
Sorry if this has been beaten to death (PDK vs MT) but I didn't find any threads debating this.
I have a C2S with SportDesign and love it, but I've never tried the multifunction.
There is a GTS I may be in love with that has the multifunction. At first it was a deal breaker but my more rational side has agreed to try it out.
Any strong opinions one way or the other on this topic?

If you plan to do any performance driving with your car, then the MF buttons seem to be in a place that your thumbs can inadvertently engage when turning.
Other than this, its a matter of personal preference. Personally, I prefer the SD w/paddles as I never use the steering wheel to control anything other than steering and gear changes.

The gear selector buttons on the multifunction wheel are an awkward solution that never feel natural. The other wheel mounted controls are the best that I have encountered. I like to be able control functions without taking my hands off the wheel and my eyes off the road. In particular, the voice control button is well located, easy to access and useful. The scroll wheel that can be used to control display functions is also easy to locate without looking and easy to use without moving your hands. It really depends upon how you plan to use the car. If nav, radio, telephone and car data aren't important to you, and you plan to use the PDK primarily in manual mode, the SD wheel is the choice (more attractive too). Otherwise, the MF wheel is pretty nice.

I'll give anyone a great price! Free shipping. Larry, trying to ruin my sale??
It's boxed up in my basement ready to roll! I'm sure there's a Sport steering wheel guy itching for a MF wheel. 75% off retail!
In all seriousness, there is no right/wrong answer! Get what you like and what's best for you. Nobody can tell you that but yourself.

For me, it's not really about the paddles yet (haven't tried +/-). Looks wise SD wins hands down.
However, I always find myself adjusting the tracks and volume on the PCM. So for usability, MF is the way to go.
Guess I'll have to wait for the wheel on the 991.2 to satisfy both sides.
