Default Anyone Hear a Jag Type F V8 S Exhaust

Test drove one this morning and the exhaust sounds incredible. Has anyone drove one of these that's also driven a 991 C2S with PSE? If so does the 991 has the that sweet of exhaust, with all of the burbbles and pops?

No, the 991 911 does not have the exaggerated, over-the-top burbles and pops on downshifts like the Jag.

That kind of cinematic overrun on downshifts is nice for a week, or two, but I would not want to live with one long-term.

Sort of like a call girl. Nice for a night, or two, maybe even three. But wouldn't want to date one, much less consider marriage.

My car selection came down to the F Type R and the 911. That Jag exhaust made me smile! Big!!
The PSE on the 911 has made me totally happy. I find the sound more "organic" than the Jag exhaust which, to my ears, sounds more artificial and programmed. Combined with the sound of the flat 6 it's a great combo. By the way, plenty of burbles but not the same forced, to me, crackling.
This is not meant to dis the Jag.
We are getting into matters of personal taste here and it's your ears that need to be happy!

Loved my 991 with PSE, but I think it could not compete with the sound of a V8. My neighbor has one and it sounds great!

Do you really buy a car based on sound? My v8 RS5 sounds wayyyy better than my 991S, but my 991S is a wayyyy better car than my RS5. No way I'd choose a car based on the sound of the exhaust.

I have a 2014 F-Type V8S Roadster, purchased new, which I will be trading for the 991.2 Targa 4S I've ordered. After 13K miles, I'm in the camp that says the programmed cacophony gets a bit old, although a strong case can be made that I'm the one getting old. Great car though, as much fun as any I've ever owned.

Heck yes I do. Sound and handling are my top priorities, power is around 4th, especially here in California where speeding tickets are epidemic. Porsche owners have taken a 2nd seat to Ferrari owners in the sound department who seem to be connoisseurs of engine sound. Seriously considering a 991.2 but will wait to see how they sound.

Just add AWE SwithPath exhaust to the Porsche and it sounds even better than the F-Type.

Pops and burbles galore.

I could. My wife's ZL1 sounds great!!

But, I've had the misfortune to take it on a few drives of about 175 miles. It gets really annoying an hour into the trip.

I loved the F-Type V8 sound, the supercharged torque and the short gearing. But I wanted a cab and the the F-Type cab simply has no meaningful storage space anywhere, so I went with a 911 and love it. PSE sounds great, though I am adding some Fabspeed headers and 200-cell cats soon...

I thought JC thought the Jag exhaust was a little too "shouty" ... YMMV.

Then you might want to choose another brand and a V8, because you'll never get a Porsche to sound as good, particularly the 991.2. Maybe a Vette?

It would produce an ear-to-ear grin every time on this face.
