Rear Valence - To Paint or not to paint?

Forum Members,

I've taken time to research the forums and have not seen where this has been discussed amongst the members.

Preferentially, I like the appearance of a body color rear valence but would appreciate hearing the thoughts of others (appearance (pro/con), maintaining the black color of a non-painted valence, etc..

thanks in advance for your input.

Todd

What color car?

If black or dark blue, leave it and save the $$.

I ordered mine painted mainly because I hate black plastic trim.

You're right about the wax residue and black plastic trim. Also in my consideration to order mine painted. Same reason I selected the Sport Design mirrors.

Thanks Lex. It would be a lighter colour car (likely silver or white). I appreciate the insight

I think the car looks lower, from the rear, with the painted valence. More finished. Surrounds the exhaust tips better too.

I ordered my White 991 S Cab with rear valance painted and think it's much better. Did same thing for my Macan Turbo and all white (both cars) looks much better in my opinion. Also, ordered the mirror bottom painted car colour in both cases.

Same reason I think the painted side skirts look great on the 4's.

I prefer painted. Looks more finished and I HATE black unpainted plastic in most areas. I had mine painted after the fact. Valence removes from bumper. Same goes with rear bumper reflectors.

All personal preference. Same goes with what color is best? No right/wrong answer.

I'm the opposite. I love the look of a black lower rear valence. Looks sportier to me. But this is like asking what's your favorite color. Do what you think looks best.

It's not available on the 991.2 configurator yet, right?

But, yes, I agree, for anything apart from dark colours, I'd have all exterior options painted.

I had mine built with it painted and am very happy with it!

I had the front lip and rear valence painted after I took delivery. It was always part of the plan. :p

My original order had a painted rear but I have not found one on a lot with that option. Looking at one right now. Did your dealer perform the after the fact painting? Wondering if this is a common request that any 3rd party would perform if the dealer did not.
