Default Porsche says "991.1 ARE DONE" is this true!?

I have been working on a custom GTS build with a California dealer and was just told our allocation was canceled. Here is the message I received.

"The regional manager from Porsche just contacted us and they are not allowing any 991's to be ordered. No Carreras, Carrera S, GTS, or turbo... The 2016's are done for good and this goes for all of North America."

I knew they were moving to the 991.2 but has anyone else heard the same message on their custom build allocated 991.1?

my buddy was at the factory on wed, and he said the whole line was 991.1 GTS... mostly white ( he was allowed to check each one to see if it was mine!!! He didn't know mine was already on a boat), and only 2 were for US market. looks like they may be about to end the run with a bang!

It's so ironic how you have to buy a 2017 model in 2015.

The first 991.2 cars will be 2016 model year. It's just a split model year - like the conversion of 997.2 to 991.1 - half of 2012 were 997's and half were 991's.

My 991.2 order is clearly identified as a "2017 Carrera S" (scheduled delivery: late March) in the paperwork / official order receipt. I'm in Canada but I'm pretty sure it's the same in the US.

I guess not, otherwise he'd have a production allocation...

I told everyone back in September. Get locked in. No more cars rolling off the line past December. They will be shipping cars after that, but no production.

It's almost November already!

Maybe some dealer has an order already in and they could still be changed? You have to find out. I doubt it

It seems like there's some nice GTS's on dealer lots for sale. I guess that's the only other option

Oh, wrong number then. There's a "No. Comm" field with "017349" as a value.
