Default Pre-owned 991 Carrera S with Carfax Accident?

Looking at a 2013 991 S coupe with 11,000 miles and pretty well equipped. Looks like new price would have been somewhere around 120-130K. Asking price at the moment is 86,500. Big problem is Carfax has the car listed as having been in an accident. Car is single owner leased CPO with a good chunk of original warranty remaining. Question is whether anyone would buy a car with an accident report? Seems like you would get killed trying to sell or trade it. One the other hand it is a way to get a well equipped 911 S for a lower price. Have not talked to the dealer yet about this car. I am guessing the accident was minor. Plan for now is to keep whatever 911 I buy for a very long time. Will probably put max 5K miles on the car per year. Car has been on the market for around a month.

FWIW

Regardless of what you pay for it, the CARFAX damage history will always be there.

For future owners beyond you.....anytime there's a story the value ↓↓↓

Accident damage and CPO? Probably pretty minor accident. Worth researching more.

The $86,500 is about the going rate for a decently equipped 991. So the dealer is not providing an allowance for the accident. I guarantee you that the accident was considered on the trade-in

If you are going to buy the car to enjoy and drive, I don't think you should worry. If the damage was minor and the car was fixed by a high end shop, which it probably was, original owner's loss is your gain.

The market is very slow out there. There are lots and lots of cars to choose from.

Fall and winter are upon us.

It's risky enough out there not getting into an accident yourself. What might not be a big deal with this one, it's still on the history. Imagine adding a second one to it? A 911 with two accidents under its history? Most buyers worry about a repaint job just for rock chips.

Just noting the reality of the buyer pool for these cars out there. Very very picky.

That car is definitely priced atleast 10K to high and yes you can bet the dealer offered the original owner a lot less because of the accident and is now looking for some sucker who will think it's a great deal when they come back and offer it for 5k less for you..lol

Agree! You can get a perfect car for less than what they're asking for that one.

RUN, why buy it when you can get a clean car for the same if not less. Winter & the new more powerful car is around the corner. I worked a deal on a 2013 non CPO 991 S PDK Chrono full front clear bra nice optioned out car with 9k miles 23 months left on factory warranty truly a perfect clean car Original MSRP 123,480.00 for 79,998k no trade strait cash offer from a dealer. Like STG991 said Porsche buyers are very picky. If for some reason you decide to sell it a negative marked car fax will always result with reduced buyers & resale.

Good luck

NOT A CHANCE I WOULD EVEN CONSIDER THAT CAR. P car owners can be fussy, just read this board. Chances are you will never know the exact extent of the damage. Plus at that price, so many other options. Plus prior owner leased the car so he didn't keep it... maybe that was the plan. Maybe it's a POS.... either way, I would not touch it. Too many other great options. Look at the hot sale of the week thread....

I would pass on that one. Too many other cars out there with no accident history.

I agree with most here. There are quite a few cars with low mileage in great shape there is no need to take a questionable car with secondary paint.

I wonder what percentage of all Pcar owners are on this forum and what percentage of these are fussy about cars
I'm sure the majority of Pcar owners are less **** about their cars than we may believe.
