Default Official waiting room for those with a new 991.2 on order --- come on in !!

I thought I would start a thread for those who have placed orders for the new 991.2 to share their excitement, anticipation and frustration.... As well as useful information :-).

Base cab here on order, production date TBD.

Best wishes to all!

I'm not sure how to do a better copy of the Porsche Code but here's my proposed build:

http://www.porsche-code.com/PHJGEUQ3

I plan on submitting it in late December. My understanding is it'll lock in January and I'll most likely have a late March/early April delivery. I was hoping production would start before then as I didn't want to get the first one off the line, but it's fine. This will be my third 911 and hopefully not my last. I pre-traded my 991.1 in in September and am already going out if mind waiting...

If they arrive in February, why would they only deliver them in March?

Good idea LCW!

I have placed an order for a Carrera S in September. Allocation confirmed 2 weeks ago. Estimated delivery date: March 25.

Saying I'm excited is an understatement

This video makes this yellow 991.2 look super-awesome. Even the growling engine sound is very nice.

But, well, I'm still on the fence about whether I should replace my 991.1 C4S with a 991.2. I might need a wee bit more persuasion; but I think I will eventually order a 991.2.

Itching to drop the order, though I want to test drive both engine sizes first.

technically, both base and S variants will have the same engine SIZE. The S, of course, will be tuned to produce more power.

Let us know when you are able to drive one!

cheers

I placed an order today for new 4S to replace my 2014 4S. It's white, again, with most of the options incl 4ws, axle lift, sport chrono plus, PSE, glass roof, Bose, PAS/ACC, LCA, camera, full leather, 18ways, sports steering group wheel, PDLS, etc.

I am looking forward to the torque which I am expecting will make it a better daily driver than my current 4S. I also have a 991.2 GT3 on order so that will be my track car and satisfy my NA desires. It won't surprise me if the new 4S is quicker in a straight line than the GT3. Not on track of course, but in gear and straight line acceleration, yes. Should make for an interesting pair.

For once I like the Sports Package with rear wheel integration. Also glad that Porsche has made front Axle lift an option too. Front Axle lift should have been introduced for all 911's since the 997.2!

When Porsche said they were going to take the 911 Up Market they weren't kidding. The cars I'm configuring could easily get you into an 997.2 Turbo.

The Sports Package is definitely interesting. Although I have decided to pass on the Sports Exhausts mainly for aesthetics: I am not a fan of the centered exhausts, I feel like the rear doesn't look as planted/balanced with them but that's personal.

Yeah these things are crazy expensive... I'm losing sleep over it I bought an Audi S3 last year thinking it could be a good all-year-round compromise now that I'm a family man... Nostalgia from my Cayman S quickly kicked in. I'll keep the S3 for convenience/winter and I'll have the 911 for the fun rides/weekend trips. Can't wait!!

I took delivery of a 2016 C2S this July, and don't regret it. It looks like they reverted to the 991.1 exhaust configuration, and they don't offer the Sport Design body package, at least for now. I will look again in about a year for 2018
