Changed amber side marker lights to clear LED side marker lights

wow, maybe we should work on some kind of giant exchange program ... I would have gladly traded my orange ones to someone over there for their clear ones ...

Do you simply pull these out? I saw the Suncoast DIY vid - theirs seem to pull right out. I tried it last night but wanted to double check before I snap a clip or something - mine didnt budge with a decent tug.

Hi Patrick:
I did this recently to put the originals back in before I returned the car off its lease. Take another look at the video, but notice how they slide the light slightly toward the wheels before it will come out. Easier to see when they do the passenger side, also look when they install them too. They seem pretty robust, don't try to pry them though, just wiggle until it comes out.

No they dont just pull out like that video shows. I did this on my Targa myself and had to use a screwdriver to leverage out the amber marker. Worked fine but wouldn't recommend that since it has the potential to leave scratches if you're not careful. On my GTS coupe I again tried myself but this time bought a cheap plastic interior tool kit to prevent scratches. However, it was refusing to budge despite a good amount of force so I didn't want to push it and had the dealer do it for me. My suggestion is if you're not comfortable have the dealer do it for you. Most will do it free of charge if you take it back to where you bought your car from.

It is tricky and you need patience if doing it for the first time as you are afraid you will break it. You need to push front of side marker in (towards frunk) and then back (towards rear of car). This will help to release the front L clip and the rear of marker will more easily move away from the car.

Thanks for the pointers guys - yea I gave up quickly and wanted to check in here. Ill give these all a try as I do hav the plastic pry bars, and if not just have dealer do it. The GTS is AMAZING!

If you look at the metal clip of the new LED marker, you would figure out the right way to push and pull.

I easily changed the amber side marker lights to LED clear side marker lights. However, when I turned on the lights, they were amber. I expected when they are turned on, they would be white in color. They were bought online through Braman Motorcars. Part numbers are 991-631-255-05-A and 991-631-255-05-99.
Anyone agree the lights are actually amber when turned on? Or otherwise?

Sweet black 991 hawc...it's amazing what clear corners will do for a car! Just did this on a white GTS
