Default metric system

Okay, I am taking a leisurely 400 mile trip and my navigation system reverts to the Metric system. All of a sudden I am getting voice commands in kilometers rather than miles. Moreover, the destination or route changes are displayed in km rather than miles. I have gone through the fixes, read the manual, searched Rennlist but cannot figure how to convert kilometers to miles. Can someone help me revert to miles on my navigation system? I would be appreciative.

By any chance, did you cross time zones in your drive?

I'm only asking because once in a Mercedes I crossed time zones and as the clock reset itself based on location, it lost all the other settings...

I don't have one in front of me but there are options in your PCM itself. Car or info then hit option button. Play around in there. Or read the PCM book. It should mention it there too.

I think it does that when you enter Canada or Mexico from the U.S. LOL

Where are you driving? Maybe it thinks you're in Cuba.

I had this happen in my 997 once. The instrument cluster was fine, but PCM changed. There were separate settings in the PCM menu. Maybe under Car > Options?

So, magically, my navigation reverted to metric in the voice and display and my radio tuning settings disappeared. I tried all the options mentioned above and there was no helpful directions available on the PCM screen or in the manual. I even checked to see if I was in Cuba. I went to bed!

This morning I went out, started the car and the navigation system and, just as magically found that the voice and display were back to "miles" and the radio tuning settings reappeared.

I conclude that the PCM software (Version 4.75) needs reloading or updating and will have this done when I take the car in for an oil change.

Is there a website or place to confirm you have the most current software load? I have Euro maps so not sure if that makes a difference.

Any chance metric was saved to a memory setting? Perhaps you activated a different memory position.
