Interesting to me that for this car, as well as the 911 50 and the GT4, they offer MT only. Why this if PDK is truly the greatest thing since sliced bread? It suggests they know their faithful base prefers MT, but to hell with us, they're marketing automatics to the masses. And once in awhile they throw us a bone........

I suspect they decided for such a short run LE vehicle they would offer only one transmission, else there would be too many complaints from people not getting the one of their choice.

I think this is how to take a great color like Fashion Grey and make it look cheap. It reminds me too much of a Fiat. This is what it looks like if you squish it...

Hi All.. regular reader, not much of a contributor I like it. Has a few of the 50th elements which differentiates it. So much for the Fuch wheel being only available on the 50th …..

For that kind of money - $ 148K - I can get a very nice Ferrari 599, V12, front-engined. Even though this is a rabid Porsche forum....look 10 years down the road. That Rennsport Edition will be worth around $ 50K, on the same depreciation curve as a 997. If the seller is lucky, maybe someone will pay $ 5K more over another GTS with similar build spec.
The Ferrari V12 599 will likely be over $ 200K by then, as Ferrari is going all V8 turbo in future builds. I know what I would buy...

I also think by and large people buy Porsche because of the understated presence relative to Ferarri which smacks of "look at me I'm a try hard" . That and the reliability/daily driver factor, Ferarri would never even be a consideration. The Rennsport model does seem highly priced however. Most 991s in that price range have PDK, a wing/duck and or Burmester.
