Reserve your 991 DSC module
 

We've been making great progress here at DSC Sport with the development of a controller for the 991/981 platform. Our GT4 is currently equipped with the system, and we have also tested it on a GT3 and base model 991, seeing improved lap times on all mentioned models (we don't have any official numbers, as we're only in the development stage - not testing).

I thought I would create a list of those who are interested in purchasing a DSC for their 991/981 to make things a little easier for everyone. We've received a lot of inquiries, and we expect to have the first batch sold out by the time it's ready to ship. Getting your name on the list now will ensure you get a unit as soon as possible (we're going to sell them first come, first serve based on this list), and it will allow us to size the production runs accordingly.

So if you are interested, PM us with your full name and email address. No payment info is necessary until units are ready to ship and you are ready to purchase. Also, reserving your spot on the list does not mean you're obligated to purchase once these are available. If we contact you, and you're not ready to buy, we'll simply take you off or rotate you to the end of the list per your request.

I am in...I assume this will be a plug and play module that replaces the existing OEM unit?

it is ... it was easy-peasy DIY in the 997, not sure where the PASM module is in the 991 but it *should* be an easy plug-n-play install *and* I would recommend leaving a USB cable plugged into the installed unit to enable future updates w/o removal of the unit from the car.

Here's a sneak peak. A local customer installed one (by himself) on his GT4 today in our parking lot. He's helping us test the beta version and provide feedback while we hone the tuning.

This swap is going to take a little longer than the 997 Plug N Play. I think we're estimating at about a 45 minute install. Honestly, I think the customer did it in less time than that today though.

where is that in a 991?

I think I have seen this unit under the carper behind the back seats. You just have to pull the carpet out.

I AM IN! I have pulled out the carpet a few times, chasing down a rattle after my TechArt Spring Install, which actually turned out to be loose sway bar linkage.

ouch that's a tough way to find that particular problem! :(

This sounds very interesting. Does this just stiffen the SPASM dampers? How do the stock springs cope with the stiffer dampers?

I am certainly interested. Sounds like a nice upgrade to the stock SPASM suspension.

it much more than that, you really need to go read the thread on the 997 GT3 thread, the DSC dynamically adjusts the PASM system based upon inputs from the many sensors available on the car... so when you decelerate, the front shocks stiffen, or when you corner, the 'outer' shocks also stiffen, and you have
3 basic 'programs' or 'maps' to define the behaviors... much more sophisticated than the OEM system.

So is this beneficial and can you feel it in everyday normal driving or is it more specific for the track?

I feel a positive benefit on the road in my 997 GT3... and clearly on track its an advantage...
