you might want to pop over to the 997 TT forum and do a search on DSC ... those guys were early adopters/fans ... even before the GT3s et al AFAIK

I had a customer of mine stop by with his 997.2T after having this upgrade done. I felt the difference in the parking lot before I even made it onto the road haha. Car felt much more planted, and confidence inspiring in cornering. I can only imagine the difference at speed on a track. Thumps up to DSC for a great product

Are there are any pics/videos or instructions for a DSC V2 install in a 991 with back seats? I've seen the video installing into a GT3 but that is obviously different... I haven't looked too hard but wondering if the install is possible without removing the rear seat backs.

DSC Sport: did I hear on the intro video that you found no difference between the normal and sport settings of PASM? On my 991 I do feel the the Sport setting is slightly firmer, but perhaps it is in my head...

You should be able to fold the seats down, and pull up on the panel just as you would a vehicle without the rear seats. Post some pics when you do the install if you can; I know a few others have had this question, and we don't have any non-GT3 991 cars at the moment. Our base Carrera had already been stripped-out for track use before we developed the DSC on it.






I don't believe we've ever said that; if so it was not intentional. To which video are you referring?

H DSC: the video I am referring to is the DSC intro video on your website, where you are installing your module in a GT3. It is the V2 DSC module install video and around 6:15 you say that the difference between normal and sport was miniscule and that there is virtually no difference between the two modes. Did I misinterpret something?

Yeah that is my issue, I don't really see where or what panel to pull up on. I didn't spent much time back there it just looks like carpet and the seatback (folded) blocks access to the very bottom.

Assuming we get some nice weather I'll wedge myself into the backseat area again and take another look...

I am in the same boat with rear seats.

Looking at it again, not an easy or intuitive install really.

The separation in the insulation is below where the lower seating surface of the rear seats, which is behind the rear center console. While it looks like you could try to not remove the center console and squeeze the carpet back under it (I wonder it you would ever achieve the factory smooth look) you definitely have to do something with the mounting points of the upper seat backs which bolt into the carpet somehow.

Can someone help with a PET diagram on how those are removed?

I almost wonder of the factory access plan isn't to remove the carpet from the top where it butts against the rear of the car?

Where can I get my own copy of the PET - years ago I ordered it from GERT in Europe, who has the modern digital one for sale?

You can't fold the seats down...I just did the install on my 2015 991 GTS with the help of this video:


Also, be sure to google "991 rear seat removal"--I remember seeing a posting on how to do it.

Overall, took me about ~1 hour to install the module; not hard, but I took my time and was extra cautious. The hardest part was pulling up the carpeting (and being careful to not scratch/scuff up the leather panels on the side), and getting the OEM module unplugged...

Can you clarify your comments on not folding down the seats? You're saying you needed to remove the rear seats in order to install the DSC?

Hey guys,

Before too many people spend too much time on this, one of the guys here at the shop confirmed that he was able to install the DSC without removing the seats on a 991 GTS a few months back. He said that he wedged his fingers into the corners once the seats were folded down and simply lifted up.

Our NZ dealer, Jeff Delio, also works at a Porsche dealership. He's going to figure out the easiest way to do this on Monday (in NZ time, which is 16 hours ahead of us) and report back to me.

Sorry for the confusion; we should have some clear instructions soon!

Sorry, when you said "Intro" video I thought you were referring to the following:


The video your referencing is of our engineer/owner/developer/driver. I think he either meant that the difference in damping levels WITHIN a given mode is miniscule or he was just getting excited about offering the V2 controller and exaggerated a bit. We don't claim that there is no, or even miniscule, difference between the two factory modes. Sport is certainly noticeably firmer than Comfort. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
