Default shout out for asaptire - especially if you have CLs

Well Saturday I switched my OEM CL wheels for a set of Forgeline GA1R's ... I thought I would have to take the wheels off, drag them to a local shop and
have them do the swap, but then I found asaptire.com thru tirerack.com.

They are a (west coast) mobile tire installer, they showed up on time in their MB sprinter truck and swapped the PZeros from my OEM to the new rims, balanced etc for around the same price as a local tire shop, and I got to deal with the
task of torquing the CLs etc myself (which means you can ensure its done right)

I'd recommend them to anyone that needs replacement tires, or similar ...

no affiliation, just a satisfied customer.

Can you post a pic of the new wheels? Did you keep the same off-set or go more aggressive? I am looking at wheels options for Summer and Winter Setup so debating on what to do....

Nice.

There's a similar service in Yankee Land:

http://www.mytireguys.com

I may give them a try for the non-P-car track car that needs new rubber. Or perhaps for the winter DD that needs new snows.

Glad you had a good experience Larry.

I tried a mobile service once to mount a new set of tires, and it did not go so well. This was a tirerack referral. I ask the owner during scheduling if they are used to working on wide low profile tires on costly wheels. He says sure, they do it all the time. I say great.

Guys shows up, and started working on one of the rears and he was really struggling. Says he is used to working on truck and tractor tires. I notice that he is too short to even see over the top of the 295's on the mount/dismount unit. He drags a tire iron over my wheel (luckily just one scratch) and I tell him STOP!

We (I say we because I jump in the truck to help this guy) end up finishing that wheel, and I have him take the remaining three new tires to a local shop to finish the job. I actually think he was relieved.

Thanks for the tip - will keep them in mind. Almost time to put the MPSS on.

yes I have my own tools, and short of having a dealer do this, DIY is the only option if you want the proper protocols to be followed IMO
