Bluetooth Audio failing to connect but bluetooth phone connects
I dunno what in the hell is going on with my car, but its apparently possessed? Y'all might not believe me, but this is absolutely true.
From time to time, i get in my car, start everything up and audio bluetooth on my iPhone 6 fails to connect to BT AUX. Now here is the odd part, the telephone functionality ALWAYS connects, but if I try to stream audio, the porsche doesn't play audio. However, when you look at the phone, it thinks it is connected and even playing music through bluetooth.
It doesnt make sense because I can place calls through the car using the bluetooth connected phone. Its as if the car thinks it's 1/2 connected, but the phone thinks its 100% connected.
It doesn't happen every time, and when it does, ive even cycled bluetooth on and off on the phone and the car. I've unpaired and re-paired the phone and car, no luck. The only thing that fixes it is if i completely power down and cycle the enter car completely off for a few minutes.
Anyone else have a possessed car like this?

Interesting. Mine started doing the same thing after the PCM SW update just prior to the most recent one related to Sat radio. Exactly the same behavior. Hmmm. Now one has to ask - an IOS issue or a PCM issue. If I forget the PCM on my iPhone 5 Bluetooth then reconnect it seems to work fine. The occurrence seems to be random . . .

Best to just plug the phone in directly to the port. The sound quality is better too.
Still no excuse for it not working. It's a well documented issue. Somehow haven't fixed it since the 991 was released in 2012.5

Old thread but new problem for me.
I changed my i-pod in glove box for a newer model. After I did that, my bluetooth did not recognize my i-phone 6 for audio streaming. No problem with phone connection. After reading the manual, I still could not get the connection back. After reading this thread I unplugged my i-pod and streaming returned for audio ( phone function still ok).

Try re-pairing your phone to the PCM with the new iPod plugged in. This has worked on other vehicles in similar situations. Not sure it will here, but it couldn't hurt.

What version of the PCM do you have? There is a known issue with this and an update. From memory I think it is 4.76 to fix the issue. Do a search and you should find a thread about this.
Good luck!

With the iPhone plugged in, mine knocks out the BT, too. So I charge the phone from the center 12V.
I have also experienced the phone connecting, but not the audio. Does it in my Caddi also. Fix I found was to double tap the home button on the phone and clear out all the apps and re-open Pandora or Sirius app, then it all works groovy.
And yes, I do have the Sirius in the car, need my Howard! The app has channels (Turbo) not on the standard system.
