Intercity and Reliable are two of the biggest. I think one is a sponsor on here too.

I also want to transport my car. From TX to CA and back. Considering a California road trip this summer and don't want to drive all the way there. I will be quoting to see if it is $$ reasonable.

I see theses guys advertising all the time on Excellence magazine:

I can vouch for Reliable. They've done an awesome job in at least a couple of examples I personally know of. The most recent was when I helped a guy in CA purchase a car from a dealer just a few miles from my home here in PA. That dealer (Holberts - er I mean Porsche of Bucks County) uses Reliable exclusively for shipping cars all over the country. I assisted the buyer by doing an inspection and drive, so that when shipped he would know for certain the condition of the car before delivery.

Long story short, the car was shipped via Reliable from Philadelphia PA area to San Francisco CA area without a single issue. If I recall, the car was delivered exactly as it had left the dealers lot -- perfect! The buyer was thrilled!

Good Luck!

PS: If you would like to talk to the guy I assisted with shipping his car cross-country, PM me and I'll see if I can put you in touch with him for his experience....

I and my sister have used DAS Auto Shippers (www.dasautoshippers.com) a combined 7 times for trips of 1,500 to 3,000 miles each.

Has always been a good experience.

Reliable quoted me $1,858 for closed shipment from Houston to the SF Bay Area.

Reliable holds Porsche's corporate account. They also own all they're trucks - most companies out there are just brokers. You pay a little more for Reliable - but by far the most professional and "reliable" carrier I've dealt with.

I have used intercity before cross country; I recommend 'covered' & 'upper deck' options ...

As stated above, you will pay more for Reliable or Intercity, but it is worth it. I have used both in the past with no issues. When I bought my 911_50 out of state last year and used a different carrier, I saved money for sure, but the experience culminated with my car coming off the truck looking like it had just run the Dakar Rally.

I learned my lesson and will only deal with the pro's in the future. Oh, and as for the name of the carrier that I used this last time? Our settlement included a gag order. But if you select a carrier nd post their name, I can agree or disagree with your selection;-)

Just to throw out another alternative, I used Angels Moving Autos - 888-530-0481.

I used them for a SoCal to NorCal move (not lazy, just didn't have the time that weekend ).

Agree that intercity and reliable are very good.

I transport cars daily with my job. For cross state runs, we use Reliable almost exclusively. Their level of service, flexibility, equipment, driver quality and insurance coverage is second to none. Yes, you will pay a little more upfront, but well worth it my opinion. Also, when something has gone wrong, they have always stepped up and made things right immediately.

Twice in the past year I used DIY Auto Transport http://www.diytransport.com with good results. They are a dispatcher that posts your transport request on the message boards and outsources the transport. They outsourced one of my requests to R&J Elite 919-607-5463, and they did an excellent job. Good communication on pickup, delivery on time as promised, no damage. R&J has an Instagram https://instagram.com/r.j_elitetransport/ that I followed as my car was picked up and dropped off. Here is my car
