HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991
I just noticed it listed on RL this afternoon. At $69,900. Good luck with that one. PDK cab is probably the least desirable GTS variant.
It is a car I would own, that is for sure, but grey leather, along with beige, turns a lot of people off. DBM is an unpopular color too: I am not sure why, as it looks great. I remember the saga of the DBM GT4 here last spring: that car would have sold to 10 different people if it had been ANY other color.
There was a guy here who had a similar car and mileage to yours, but $135k every-option build and manual in Platinum Silver-black leather, and he got $66k last spring. That car was sweet: PDCC, Burmester, and 18-ways I have to think as a % of MSRP, and time of year, start in the high 50's and see where it goes.
Is this one an HFS?

I think the real question is it a car that you love? For me, I don't particularly like cabriolets and definitely don't love the interior color combo. I learned long ago, don't buy a color combo you don't like (or a cab when you really want a coupe) just because it's convenient or even a good deal. Most who make that mistake end up selling it within a year, or two at most.

I think it will sell very quick at that $$. Let us know when it's listed. Nice looking manual cab!

Hey all, cross-posting here from my original thread in Off-Topic:
.
.
As some of you may know, my 996 got rear-ended and totaled a couple months ago. Was stopped at a light and hit by a kid texting.
What I’m looking for is quite specific, so very hard to find. I have spent countless hours searching everywhere I can think of. Two cars have come up for sale over the past couple months, but both sold before I could buy them (one was being sold by an RL member just last week). So, I’m casting a wide net to see if others can help find what I am looking for:

Two cars have come up for sale over the past couple months, but both sold before I could buy them (one was being sold by an RL member just last week). So, I’m casting a wide net to see if others can help find what I am looking for:
.
- 991 (base or S).
- About 2014 or so.
- Under 45K miles. Of course, the lower the better.
- Exterior color blue. (Ideally Sapphire Blue, but Lapis Blue or similar is fine. No Miami Blue though. Too "Smurf" looking for me.)
- Interior color I am less concerned about, but I prefer grey, tan, brown or some color other than black. Nothing crazy though.
- Clean car with no accidents, no “stories.”
- Coupe only, no cabs.
- PDK only, no manual.
- About $60k +/- price.
- The closer to San Diego the better. For an ideal car I'd be willing to pay to have it shipped here but I'd want some eyes on if first by an RL member or other trusted party. When I registered my Jeep here earlier this year it cost a fortune. Not sure if that was because it was registered in AZ at the time, and I had it re-registered here in CA. Also, getting the smog cert for out-of-state cars might be a pain, but I'm not sure on this (for those of you in other areas of the country: every time a car changes hands here in CA it has to get re-smogged).
Please contact me if you come across a car that meets these criteria.
Winner will receive a customized version of my CUDA911 RL Special hot sauce. Thanks in advance!

I have not been looking, however I would think you will have slim pickins at your price point and those PTS colors. I'm putting mine up for sale after the first of the year, 2018 Carrera Base WP2AA2A96JS105433. Agate Grey Metallic/Agate Grey int.. STUNNING! I will have the first years maintenance completed by then. We are upgrading to a 992. In AZ.

I think the build sheet is incorrect

Thanks guys. I entered the wrong VIN #. It's changed.
I just noticed the 176 Silver & 178 Black. It's defiantly Black. Not sure how to get it changed... I will do some recon.
I wish it had the Sports Chrono pkg! That is the one option I really wanted, not that I need it, it's just cool as hell.
I probably jumped the gun on mentioning this, my apologies.
When the time comes in 7-8 weeks, what would be the best directions to go as far as listing this?

I try
The last 2 cars I've bought came off craigslist and I got them for a little less than I was willing to pay,
I'd guess a bunch of high quality shots showing the condition inside, outside, and underneath with a detailed but succinct explanation of sevice/repairs/mods/records in a PDF ready to send people.
Put that up here and any other social media you're on, doing it once and right for a price you're fine getting but not on the high end, so it doesn't take up too much of your time.
The other quick option is take the tax advantage on trade and be done with it, really depends on how much you feel your time is worth when it comes to selling a pretty new car IMO.
Or, get a dealer that will do a pass through and get the tax advantage along with your sale price vs. their offer.
They would probably also facilitate buyer financing if needed, which is where I've had private party deals fall through on more expensive cars.
