They had a 2013 manual C2 in Aqua with 27k miles, CPO, for $62,500. Wheels were aftermarket crap, and I wanted them to put OEM Wheels on there; I would pay an extra $1k for the wheels, and I didn't care whether they were new or used, or give me the car for $61,500. They wouldn't budge. Instead, they auctioned off the car, and the car was for sale the next week for $62,900. What did they get on auction, $54k? Why send a car to auction unless you positively have to because it has a salvage title or you have no hope of selling it, especially when a buyer is willing to pay you several thousand more than auction value
That's what I didn't get either. IMO, it's a shame to see a low milage car, get excited and then click on that CarFax only to see multiple owners. 3 is my limited and condition trumps everything but this is why cars take dings on multiple owners. On top of that, take the hit on auction then mark up the price even more to recoup your loss.

This Sapphire blue base C2 from P of N was a corp lease return (maybe spent some time at a PEC) so it drew my attention of only being a 1 owner car and it was on PNA locator. After emails, text and even live video feeds, the front had some rock chips but other than that, was a decent mid to upper 60's buy.

They had a similar silver 991.1 base C2 with lower miles and more options that was at 64K. I used that leverage but they were still stuck on 71K.

P of N was very prompt on trying to seal the deal up until my offer. They countered with a couple hundred off and didn't like my offer and said our offers are too far apart. With that being said he mentioned it's going to auction next week w/out any hesitation.

I've started to notice that cars don't sell until the dealer drop their prices by a significant amount, like 10k. And this is usually after they sit for at least 60 days.

I would personally stay far and way from this vehicle. Great price but no thanks.

CPO but will not transfer to new owner. Brought this up to the dealer and they will not budge on price.

Input?

I would just do some due diligence. Mine has the same mystery damage on carfax but no one can find it and the previous owner swears he knows nothing of it. I had plenty of eyes on it and the bumper was never cracked or filled, the part number matches the car so it was never replaced, and the PPI and dealer couldn't figure out where the damage occurred. I ran an autocheck (the more accurate of the two) and it came up all clear.

That's a good price. It seems to have all of the right boxes checked AND it's a 4S which is very hard to find at a reasonable price nowadays. You can wait a month a see if they'll come down a grand or two, but you also have a good chance of losing the car over a grand or two... I don't care for cabs, black on black, or non-CPO cars, but if I were, you would be watching me drive off in that care while you waited for the price to come down. It's really a good deal imo.

Well it had an accident or damage and went up for sale 3 months later. Damage was in the rear too according to the carfax. I would also be hesitant with this one considering the history, I personally would prefer a cleaner history if I was spending $70k+ on a car. Warranty also expires in one week.

All of this and I truly know how disgusting and shiesty dealerships can be. Sales and service managers are far from honest and do as much as possible to spend as little as possible only to sell the car for as much as possible. That dealership will laugh at the poor soul who buys that car.

With all that in mind I don't even want to imagine how many different hands have been on that vehicle underneath its skin. Even if only a minor fender bender. Goodbye resale!

As far as this one goes:

https://www.brilliancehonda.com/inve...cb2a92es155452

Salesman sent me close up pics of the top which has several creases and wear spots. Decided to pass. He was ready to make a deal at 84K out the door if anyone is interested.

Nice enough build, decent price if the condition is great.

I don't love the closeness of the damage report and the owner putting it up for sale, but if it was limited to a repair or replace of some thing like the rear bumper skin, probably not a big deal. The problem is usually there is no way to really know... Most PPI's won't cover that sort of thing, most body shops are insurance work only and do such crappy work themselves they won't be quick to point out others sloppy work.

Good call, just make sure you get it checked out first. I sold my BMW a month after having the rear bumper resprayed: it was scuffed up during transport when I had it shipped. The bumper respray had nothing to do with selling the car: finding the perfect manual 335is certainly did in conjunction with the dealership paying more than I paid for it!

I have put in a transer request for this vehicle and will be purchasing the car!

EDIT: I've officially paid the $900 transer fee to get this car down here. I hope it all works out.

Earlier this morning there was 13 or 14 911 4S with X51 powerkit PDLS + other goodies that sold for 72K. Missed out on that one.
