Love the color but it would be soooo much better with 18 ways and a stick.

Nice to see the other GT models cooling off on prices and Porsche making more of them. The "gotta have it" flipper crowds boat has sailed. The whole luxury/exotic market is cooling off too.

Porsche has so many new models and variants in the pipeline, they're going BIG. They're expanding quick and on their way to be the next BMW and BENZ.
Just a guess, but i would not be surprised to see this new 4.0 L engine in a future 992 T. It's already 44 HP more that the 991.2 T and a guess is it can be tweaked higher in HP and torque. 310 ft-lbs is a bit low fot a 4.0 L. It could make up for the weight gain of the 992, since it is without the turbos the 3.0 has. With that upper range torque and 8000 rpm redline, it certainly is a high strung engine. It definitely is not the engine for hypermilers who like to cruise at 1500 rpm!

^^^ As others have commented, I would now be very surprised to see a naturally aspirated engine in any new Porsche that isn’t a GT car or Spyder...

^^^^^^ I agree. The fact that they had to design a new bottom end because they needed to rotate 180's for a Cayman, plus NA,.. I kinda doubt they would use it in a 992 T. There are other platforms that could easily obtain the hp & torque gains they would need to place the T in juuuust the right spot to justify the cost of a "supposed" lightweight enthusiast drivers car. I'm not a big fan of the T though,.. so I could be jaded.

^^^ I wonder how easy is to mod a current 991.2 to accept the 4.0 NA.

I know I am getting off topic but STG started it 😆

wrong choice of words on my part WC. I can say that I dig the concept, shape & quality is to die for (ie wish I had a 991!!),.. plus I LOVE LOVE LOVE yellow. The only thing that bummed me out was the weight reduction. I just thought it could have been more. And it was at a time that my wife & I were in the hunt for a water-cooled 911,.. and we were driving a LOT of them, new & older (which confuses things too). We ended up with a 997. But I still lust for a 991 too - I think the shape is more balanced than the 997.

^^^ Cheers, Steve. I agree that Porsche marketing concentrating on the ‘lightweight’ theme of the T was mis-advised, and they came in for quite a bit of stick for it. I’m happy with mine though (18k miles in) and have a few more mods planned for next month.

One thing I will say for sure WC, is that the T's short throw manual shifter was definitely a draw towards that car (would've added a Cobb tune too if I went that way).
At the time wife & I were looking we really wanted NA engine, so the 2016 GTS manual was rising towards the top of our list. Plus we LOVE winged 911's, so the Aero Kit was also a must-have for us.

And since this is a "Hot Sale - 991 Pick of the Week" thread,... I'll pony up a car that (had we not gone the 997.2 GT3 route), a car like THIS would have been a nice choice....

I must also say that Rennlister "Brian E", if he is still lurking around here (& since I love the Blue's too), has a phenomenal Spec '16 NA GTS spec.... take a look at this beauty (Post #364)...

But still have a hunch Porsche just might try to kick the T up a notch. They seem to have a knack of how to get more money.
I already know how im going to kick mine up more than a notch! And i keep thinking about adding a wing...

Thank you for the kind words Steve. Always a pleasure to chat with you. Still have the GTS and at some point will pass it along to a new home, but just haven't put much effort into selling it. It's a phenomenal no stories 2016 manual GTS. If there is any serious interest pm me. Cheers!

OK, brace yourselves. Here comes this again where it was claimed it was the only Endurance Racing Edition in the world with manual transmission, and easily worth $300-something thousand, because it is the only one with manual tranny. Why do I think that was BS? Because the VIN was outside the proper range. And looking at the pictures, it does not have Red seat belts. And it does not have PDCC. And a guess it's there are more discrepancies. In sure it's a nice 991.2, but $300+some thou is just stupid...
