Lets face it, these cars were mass produced cars. The early ones are reaching 7-8 years. The depreciation curve is not as accelerated as, lets say, a Mercedes SL, but it will continue to depreciate. My prediction is that it may bottom out at around $35-40K, but that is just me. If you are in the market for 991.1 cars, just get the best one you can with your budget and enjoy it. If in the future it appreciates, good for you. Otherwise, just enjoy the time you have with it and expect a loss when you sell it.

Correct. They're all depreciating including the GT cars. Nobody is really going to make money on owning a car, especially all these mass produced Porsche's. Have a pristine low mileage car that never gets driven may be worth more 20 years from now, but the carrying cost and $$ tied up in it would easily offset any "appreciation". If you're looking for real investments, steer clear of cars. Should be common sense.

I just re-listed my 991.2 C2S manual. Superb car and priced reasonably! It is a great 911T alternative: here you can get a 911T but with more power (420 vs 370), as this has all of the "T" options, save for the door pulls and lightweight glass. I had it listed a couple of months ago, but a dealer jerked me around, saying that he would wire money as soon as I pulled my ad (he was flipping the car and didn't want his customer seeing it cheaper here). Of course, he flaked and I am just now getting round to listing it again.

I bought this from Eduardo last fall. The car is amazing, and I would prefer not to sell, but my wife's new track car is going to eat up all of our fun car budget. My trusty Tacoma will have to be my DD for a few more years at least!
I pulled the stripes off, as people told me "it won't sell with those on there". I don't understand the sentiment, as I think they looked amazing, but to each their own.

Nice car. Eduardo. Why do I want to recognize that name? Remind me who this guy is?

Agreed. People need to stop listening to overly conservative nerds when it comes to selling cars. To them anything that isn’t 100% OEM is a downside. These are 911’s, it doesn’t work that way. If they were GT cars or very rare designations, then yes. But not Carreras. Tasteful touches go a long way in catching the right buyers.

I would peel those off the day i bought it and would be afraid as a perspective buyer that the paint underneath may now be a different tint. Todays water based 3 mil thick paint is just garbage.

For all the PTS lovers out there, check out this Birch Green 991.2 Carrera S in Palm Beach. They just dropped the price to 109k. This has the highest msrp I've ever seen on a Carrera S at $175k. Looks like they checked pretty much every leather option on the order form, plus it has PCCBs and a crazy option I never knew anyone actually ordered - carbon floor mats with leather edging. Wish it was closer so I could check it out in person!
