What is the Sport+ throttle map like? I absolutely hate throttle maps that put most of the range forward. I want linear, that's all.

Remind me, there is a custom mode to tell the car what you want in Sports+, right? Can you exclude some features from it? I know you can't turn off rev matching once you have it.

To be honest, my current state of mind is that I'd rather have less computers randomly pull on my wheels one way or another.

Yes to question #1 on PASM

Question #2: Throttle Map is ALOT crisper and more responsive. Day and night vs. Sport alone. If driving around town, you wouldn't have Sport Plus on with a PDK in automatic mode. The gears don't shift until 4K or so even if taking it easy. If you're on it and floor it, they will redline every gear. The beast comes alive. Not sure your complete question though.

Question # 3: The "custom mode" is a 991.2 feature.

I have been around for a while and the info gathered in this thread (despite your attitude at times) was helpful in understanding the market prices and inventory. I do appreciate the time you commit to your job as unofficial moderator of Rennlist.I have one already. Just sharing the deal for the sake of others given manual C4S options are slim and this is the lowest priced one with CPO in the country. The benefit of posting here is that other humans may have info (thanks beaudawg) while others just want to pretend to be authoritative.I'm seriously baffled by the "paying RL member" thing. Do you work for Internet Brands? You know this site is run by a for-profit company right? There is no community benefit to being a paying member.Really?
Invested, pretending, not useful, nasty, unofficial, pretend to be authoritative, IB employee, yeah that's me.

Yes, really! We were due for some drama. Happens every 8 months or so. Time to move on here for the sake of the others who follow here. This isn't our first time at the rodeo here with this. Let me know when you find your second listing

Back to HFS ...

Default Advice on this 991.1

Hi Everyone, new member to Rennlist and looking to buy my first Porsche. I have been reading this forum for the past month or so and gathered tons of information and education. While at a dealer last weekend looking at cars, the SA informed me of a 2013 911 S that was being traded in. The car was traded in today and the SA called me to see/drive it prior to it being listed. I really liked the car and it ticks many of the boxes. I am curious to whether this is a good price.

Year: 2013
Mileage: 8,200
Comes with a second set of snow wheels/tires (on the vehicle now).
Front hood has full PPF and fenders half way up.
Have requested all of the service records. Was told the 40K was just completed.
Carfax looks clean

VIN:WP0AB2A94DS120451

The car in not CPO'd and the warranty has expired.
Dealer is asking $79,991 and would certify it for additional $1,500 (half off of regular price) which covers it for 2 years or 50K miles from purchase. I like the low mileage and think that the CPO is a good option for the price.

Curious as to what you guys think?

Pictures are from SA.

Thanks for you help!

Three owners wouldn't bother me...the wrap might because I would want to know the condition of the paint underneath. Not sure what stainless steel finish rims mean. Are they Carrera Classics - if so, the centers should be titanium-look.

That does add a lot of intrigue and drama to a car that didn't have pictures on their website hahaha!

Same for me. But then I think, "what color of blue is the wrap?" I mean, a Voodoo Blue wrap could be a selling point

This is a shame, as this is a color combination I want. I just wouldn't risk buying and hoping everything underneath the wrap is clean.

I actually like Anthracite Brown Metallic

Assuming the paint is in good condition, the dealer would probably be money ahead to have the wrap pulled and paint correction done, then re-price. But maybe they know better than to take that risk.

State of overpriced Porsche's. I've RARELY found any deals in CA after looking for like 3 years now. I'm talking less than what I can count on one hand. This is after looking at 1,000's of cars. I'd probably say over 10,000. Who knows. Never thought about it. Probably a lot more.
We purchased our first Porsche, a 981BS and our first 911 C2s cab at Rancho Mirage, and our current C4s cab (all CPO) - all in California and all at below market prices. I was just judicious about shopping national and knowing prices. The C4s cab with MSRP + prepaid service + tint and escort depreciated about $50k in 14 months and the car had only 4700 miles. Thank you Mr Payne!

So STG if one does one's homework as constantly recommended on HFS one can find CA deals. And there is a huge inventory to study.

Sport Chrono also gives you a dash timer (completely useless), dynamic engine mounts (nice, but most drivers wouldn't miss it), and throttle remapping (also nice, but there are other work-arounds). None of the additional SC features are complete deal breakers in my opinion.

On a manual, Sport Chrono is a bit less important because you don't have the lazy pdk shift program to worry about. SC Sport-Plus does give you rev-matching downshifting (except on early 2012.5 cars), and also gives you the dynamic mounts, etc., but that is why some don't care as much if there is SC on a manual car.

However, if someone the kind of owner that will almost never push the Sport-Plus button anyway, buying a car without Sport Chrono might not be deal breaker for them.
PDK might be lazy in normal mode but perks up in Sport. To "daily drive" in Sports+ in auto mode is a non-starter for me and probably others. Any style of driving I've tried makes no difference - the engine holds each gear to almost redline and downshifts at 3500-4000 rpm. Now Sports+ in manual mode is another story. Pure fun. Although you might want to turn off the stiffer PASM setting if you're not on track or driving in a spirited fashion. I've used Sport+ auto on driving skills days and on small auto cross and it is really amazing. My 3 cents worth.
