CPO 1.5 yrs left. I think he may be a bit high on the $$ with miles with that MSRP.
Thanks much for the feedback. I notice that there's much attention to the value of a car based upon MSRP. I understand to some degree, but condition seems to be secondary in many cases. Is that because condition is assumed as very good on most of these? Regardless, I appreciate the perspective and sage advice I've received so far and take all into consideration. I believe the next step for me is likely a PPI.

That was listed locally and was a scam.

I've seen this in person and driven it. It has a lot of small pitting on the front protective film, and the headlight lenses have a lot of small checking/cracks on the surface.
I walked away when I saw the damage, although it could be fixed. The headlight housings/lenses alone will run a pretty penny negating the price, IMHO.

MSRP and finding the right build are top priorities for narrowing down, but to me condition of the vehicle is just as important as a next step. In general, but not always, the less miles the better the cosmetic condition. Each one has to be judged independently though.

If wanting a lower price point car with higher mileage, there is a trade off. Won't be in the same condition as an under 10K mile car most likely.

I like the $80K-$95K cars with LOW miles and $30K-$40K MSRP.

I am talking in a general sense, but each deal and car has to be judged on its own. Some well cared for cars with 30K miles are in better condition with ones with half the mile, etc. Owners, care, maintenance, PPF, etc ... are all factors.

I'm in Raleigh. I'd be glad to check it out for you. Caveat: My only experience is about 600 miles in my MT 991.2, and a couple of short test drives in 991.1. So, I'm probably not the best for detecting mechanical defects (especially in the PDK).

Thank you my friend, I will be sure to send you a PM tomorrow. (Headed to dinner with the wife now) I'm getting a PPI done this week on the car but would LOVE to have a fellow rennlister check it out before I make my move officially.

Believe it or not, you're a life saver. I'm having a PPI done this week so the mechanical aspect should be taken care of. I'm looking for someone to check out basic wear and tear items, any rock chips, curb rashes etc. I will send you a PM tomorrow, headed to dinner with the wife now and she is staring at me with her coat on as I type this...lol.

Condition on cars at this level is a given. Good condition is expected and anything less is very risky as an indicator of maintenance.

Long time lurker, first time poster at HFS. I was looking at a 991.1 in parallel to a 993 and ended up going air cooled when the right one came along.
This one below is walking distance from me if anyone is curious. Not a knock your socks off price but for SoCal pretty darn good well optioned 2014 S with lower miles.
Though you have to like white (not for me) and it is lacking full leather.

Detailed Pricing - $76,981

$123k MSRP
  • Exterior Color : White Interior Color : BLACK
  • Mileage : 20,344 Miles

Why would someone order a 2016 4S with an MSRP of $139k and not just get a GTS?

That to me is bizarre. 263 miles? Did someone die?

Probably just test drives. 100 times making a 2.6 mile round trip cold redlining onto the freeway and back to dealership. Sweet!
