Quite the story the Craiglist poster fabricated though!
Oops. Sorry about that, I missed the salvage title part. I wasn't interested, but the story caught my eye. Craigslist is getting worse and worse.

HFS tip: ALWAYS Google the VIN #. You sometimes get some interesting history on a car. Also, previous sales listings sometimes.

I spotted a 2013 Carrera S PDK Cab at the Porsche dealer (CPO through mid 2019). Good options list, but miles seems a bit high at 35k. They were asking $76k and I inked a deal at $74k. The car was just traded in, so hasn't been detailed yet. I expect to pick it up on Friday. So, I'm not sure if I overpaid a bit, but wanted to get some input from folks who are in the know. I didn't see a lot of options up here in the Pacific North West, so didn't want to miss out. Thoughts?

Full option list? Original sticker? Carfax? We could tell many of these things if you provided a vin. If you have it locked up with a deposit, you shouldn't have to worry about 'protecting' the car.

If it's a nicely optioned car, and you like the color, cabrio, etc, and it's CPO, it certainly seems like reasonable deal especially since it's local.

Here is the VIN: WP0CB2A91DS156834

The first owner (Southern CA) drove it quite a bit, but the second owner only put 2k on it over the last year. I'm pretty sure the last owner lived within 5 minutes of my house!

I appreciate the feedback and figure it might be a data-point for others.

One more thing worth sharing, the 40K service was just completed (new brakes and rotors), plus four new tires.

^Seems like a decent deal for the build/mileage, and recent surge in prices.

Since you already bought it, just drive and enjoy

P.S. Don't stay in the HFS thread because you will keep looking for your next 911

Too late.....now I want a track car! Ok, sounds like I didn't do too badly then. I usually spend a lot of time digging into these things, but I was a bit impulsive on this purchase.

Fair deal with a CPO. Especially in your part of the country. That dealer could have easily listed at $82K in that market with spring here.

Enjoy the new 991!
