^^^ those are the type of dealers I'm talking about. The Chicago suburbs are littered with them. Operating out of warehouses and industrial parks usually. Not places I'd want to buy a car from personally.

Some have nice cars, but are very shady. They make Porsche dealers look like saints that adorn the Vatican.

I've been to those kind of dealers. I wouldn't buy a Chicago Hot Dog from them, not to mention giving them 100K

Livermore always seems to have some nice lease returns/trades. I came close to buying a car from them a few months back.

I actually thought about flying in, visiting some family in East Texas and then driving it back to the Bay Area, but not sure if my body's ready for 1,800 miles in 2-3 days in a 911. And not sure that much freeway driving is the ideal way to break in the car.

I'd typically agree w/ you, but this place definitely has a nice collection of cars, including ones that a dealership would want. Only 6 Yelp reviews though.... (if it matters)

I'm too skeptical of these other independent used car dealers and the route where they get these cars.

Sometimes another luxury dealer (Benz, BMW, etc.) get them traded which is fine. Not a fan of something like "Sammi's Luxury Autos"!

These Porsche dealers are very desperate for used inventory, that I can't imagine them passing along any cars to auctions, etc. unless they didn't think it was good enough for their inventory.
Based on a recent conversation with the GM of my local Porsche dealer, the off lease buybacks from Porsche NA are very expensive. And even though they would like more inventory, have a unit or three significantly above "book" is not great for them unless people are willing to pay very high prices. Some of the good ones go down the auction lane and are picked up at book by both Porsche dealers and independents.

I'll be coming from Houston if it's not underwater! Hopefully I can find some nice, scenic and twisty roads on my drive back. I went to school in Nacogdoches, SFA Lumberjacks!!!!

If you knew what Chicago hot dogs were made of, you wouldn't buy one of them from the Pope.
