HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991
I don't disagree with your original assessment, but curious how the 991 is more fun to drive than the 997?
All true. But to most long-term Porsche aficionados, besides all those things I mentioned, the 991 is also better looking and more fun to drive than the 997. So when 991s are as old as today's 997s, it would be a huge stretch to imagine todays 991s would not be worth more than today's 997s. ...this, from a guy who has been a Porsche fanatic, PCA member and owned 10 Porsches since 1970.

I sit in a 997.

Having said that, the 997 is less expensive than a 991, on a model for model basis. So there is plenty of reason to choose a 997 over a 991. Or an older Boxster or Cayman, for that matter. Some people drive an old 924 and enjoy the car as well as the comraderie of their local PCA Region folks. It's all good.
But we were talking about today's 997 pricing versus future 991 pricing at comparable model, age, and miles. The comparable 991s in the future will likely cost more than today's 997s, because they have higher original MSRP, have better specs, and we are typically going to see some inflation over those future years. With inflation and Porsche's continued moving up-market, that's virtually a sure thing. Unless we get the Mother of All Recessions - in that case, prices could re-trench....

What's up HFS Gents,
I had a buyer fall through on my beautiful 2015 Carrera GTS, so I'm re-listing the car here. Please take a look at my classified here. I've also included some common questions that people may have. Hope this can find a good home with one of the HFSers! The car has 7800 miles, and I'm asking for $102K. I'll transfer the CPO, which goes until April 2021, and I have the title in hand. Car is ready to find a new home!
- What was the original MSRP of the car and what else have you done to the car?
The original build for this car was $140,380 including the following options:
- 911 Carrera GTS - $114,200
- Carrera White Metallic - $710
- Leather Interior in Black - $3850
- PDK - $4840
- 20" Carrera S Wheels - $0
- Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB) - $8520
- LED Headlights inc. PDLS - $1595
- Deletion of Alcantara - $0
- Power Sport Seats (14-way with memory package) - $1520
- Premium Package Plus i.c.w. Power Sport Seats (14-ways) - $2,030
- BOSE audio package - $2120
-----------------------------
$140,380
Added value:
- Full Xpel front wrap - $2700
- Llumar Ceramic 40% Tint - $320
- Sport Design Steering Wheel + Installation - $1900
- Brand new PCCB brake pads installed on 7/12/2018 - $1200
- Michelin 4S tires installed in October 2017 - $1900
- Clear Side Markers - $100
-----------------------------
Added total: $8120
- Has the car been well maintained?
Yes! The car was bought as a CPO from Porsche of Nashua. Since then, I had the 2-year service done to the car at about 5,000 miles. Oil and brake fluid have also been changed multiple times. All work has been performed by either Porsche of Nashua or at reputable shops, such as Auto Engineering.
- Do you have all receipts and service records to prove it?
Yes! I have all of the service records and can prove all of the car's service history since I have owned it.
- Can I schedule a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI)?
Most definitely, as long as you pay for it! There is absolutely nothing to hide about the car, so if it brings you peace of mind, go for it.

Thanks for the heads up to call Gene. He was on vacation but was able to get everything worked out for me on this car. I also worked with David when I picked up the car and I can't say enough nice things about working with Hennessy on this transaction. They picked us up from the airport and made sure everything went smoothly.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another car from them and would work with either Gene or David anytime.

The 991 is the better car, but that doesn't mean a whole lot when it comes to resale value. The 997 is much better than any 993, and air-cooled cars aren't exactly cheap. A 1973 2.7 RS probably can't lap the ring in under 8:45 and yet they seem to do quite well at resale.
If the 997.2 eventually eclipses the 991's value, it will be due to rarity and the somewhat unfiltered-analog nature of the 997. The same thing is happening in the GT3 market: 991's are coming very close to 997 prices. A lot more 991 GT3's were build when compared to the 997.2 platform (supposedly around 1,000 were built). Last of the Mezger engine, great 6MT transmission, more raw. A 50k mile 991 GT3 sold for $100,000 on here recently. That is perhaps $10,000 more than a 997.2 GT3 with a similar mileage and build would go for (and that would be about the cheapest non-wrecked GT3 I have seen).
I would take a 991 over a 997 if it were only comparing driving dynamics, but if I were worried about future value, I would opt for a 997. You may be able to drive it for close to free!

Nice manual 4S cab at a good price, former CPO car, don't see too many manual cabs, looks like it has black/beige full leather, SD wheel, SportTechnos, etc. No VIN listed - https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...7766/overview/
This appears to be a really good price for a manual 2015 GTS Cab.

Does anyone know why this one has been sitting for a while at Long Beach Porsche? Blue not my first choice of color or the 42K miles on the car but I haven't been able to find a black 991 C2s 7mt for under $80K.
