991S rattles

991S rattles
I could not find a specific tread on rattles so...
I took delivery of a 2013 991S in June of last year. Although I track the car I did not expect rattles in the dash especially in a new car. Reading through numerous boards the solutions ranged from a crack in a fire wall to dashboard clips to a rattle in the rear passenger area progressing through the frame to the dash.
After a few trips to the dealership the issue was finally resolved. The technician worked with me for over 2 1/2 hours, riding with me to hear the rattles then spent over 90 minutes working on the car to correct the issue.
He proceeded to remove the plastic cover in the front trunk and loosen then tighten every bolt and screw associated with the wipers, struts and strut braces. He used a very little WD40 before he tightened each bolt and screw which allowed him to tighten each one more so than against a dry chassis. Issue resolved!
So, if you have a rattle that seems to come from the dash try what the technician did and see if it resolves the issue.

I'm about to rip into my doors to get the tinny rattling/tapping noise to stop.

Sharp color, I like it. Glad they fixed the rattle. For the money these Porsches cost, they really should be more rattle-free (not to mention world renowned German engineering and all).
My 981 CS feels solid, the chassis is obviously very stiff/strong, but the overall feeling is not as vault-like as I expected. I had to track down and fix a few rattles/noises, a couple of which took significant time and effort (it became a challenge, actually). Quite frankly, I was a little disappointed I had to do that to a brand new $80K car (let alone a $100K+ 991).
My 2011 370Z, though certainly not the equal of the Porsche in all areas, was exceptionally solid-feeling and rattle-free. It was half the price. My previous Porsches had fewer rattles. Of course, I realize some of this is luck of the draw.

The color is Porsche Racing Green. Previously I had a Nile Green (951), Rain Forest Green (996 C4) and now this 991S.
The dealer is in Tyson's Corner, VA.
My tapping noise appeared to come mainly from top passenger side dash. Occasionally from the driver's side.
Once the tech tightened the bolts and screws, the car is now rattle free.
Here is a picture of the interior: two tone leather primarily Espresso deviated with Cognac.

I had that tapping noise from top of passenger dash also. It was intermittent and hard to identify. After multiple dealer visits a dealer finally unbolted the entire dash from the cowl and when they put it back together the tapping noise was finally gone.
