Its arrived
Picked up my new 4S. It's going to be a garage buddy for my Macan S.
My wife drove me to collect the 4S in the Macan so I had both side by side for the delivery. As you can see, they are the same colour, have the same wheels and pretty much the same options. They are like two peas in a pod. Just the way I wanted it. (Both my wife and I are a bit **** in that regard!)
The drive back from the dealer (150+kms) was fantastic. The 4S is fast, comfortable and the ride is surprisingly good. In fact, the two cars drive the same but different. The Macan will be my daily commuter to work. The 4S my weekend blaster.
Will post some driving impressions, and some more pictures, after the weekend.
4S configuration is:
White
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
Adaptive cruise control incl. Porsche Active Safe (PAS)

For me, the only colour for a Porsche is white. It's a racing heritage thing. If you look back over the years, most of the racing Porsches are white. Even today, the Le Mans cars and most of the Carrara Cup cars are white. That's just my personal preference. Not dissing any other colours.

Very nice.
I'm partial to lighter colors myself, silver is my favorite, as lighter colors like silver, white and grey are so much easier to keep clean.
I always thought the heritage color for Porsche cars was silver, as most ads for Porsche cars have silver painted ones.

Very nice. I test drove a GT3 and was sorely tempted but two things swung it to the 4S.
Firstly, I felt the GT3 was a bit too extreme for me and I wanted the safety net of 4wd for the winter in Europe. Secondly, and most importantly, my wife did not want the GT3 at all. She said she would never drive it, which some people might say is a good thing , but my wife and I have always shared our cars around. She has a brand new Mini Cooper S which is a hoot to drive around town. Especially in the narrow streets of the historic parts of the city where we live.
