Default Porsche's U.S. Patent for 991.2

I've found these interesting articles about Porsche's patent for the new rear spoiler which will be implemented in 991.2:

https://www.stuttcars.com/porsche-models/911/991.2/

http://www.google.com/patents/US8584778

If this is true, will all 991.2s be turbo?

Months ago when everyone was talking about Porsche going to a 4 cylinder I said they'd call it the 912. Ha ha. Very funny. Now this article says Porsche may reintroduce the 912. Not so funny any more. Just remember you heard it here first!

Keep in mind, even if all future 911's are turbocharged cars, that doesn't mean they will be Turbo's. In fact, they most certainly will not. The "911 Turbo" isn't just a reference to the type of air induction.

I doubt all turbocharged 911's will have the special spoiler + retractable wing that the Turbo has. But, it'd be cool. Then they'd just have to make the Turbo's even more special.

Interesting patent, though! Can't wait to see what direction they go in for the 991.2, 992, and possibly a 912 (?).

Wow, I think we all expected that the trend towards turbo charging cars would eventually make it's way down throughout the 911 line, I am surprised it is so soon. He comes the next round of complaints that Porsche has lost its way...

I'll bet that we see an all turbo lineup in the 991.2. Look at the Macan as a reference - both the "S" and the "Turbo" models have turbo-charged engines. As GreenLantern pointed out, "Turbo" will no longer be a literal reference.

I'd rather Porsche go hybrid with an electric motor than turbocharging.

hmmm...kinda looks like the unattractive vertical " 2x4 " retracting spoiler of the early Boxsters

Seems like the Panamera, Cayenne, and Macan lines are a harbinger of future turbocharged engines and nomenclature. Cayenne S, Macan S and Panamera S are all turbocharged but are not the "Turbo."

Looks like I'll be holding on to my 911/50 for a long long time. That's probably a good thing for my wallet.

reminiscent of the transition from air to water cooled engines...

I think it was *obvious* from all the pictures of the mules with the new exhaust and louvered rear bumpers that turbocharging is coming...

If this is true, pardon my ignorance, but how would Porsche distinguish the 991.2 turbo from the base Carreras? Would it just come down to simple hp difference and the xtra goodies on the side for the turbo, or maybe the 991.2 turbos would go hybrid?
