Need input on buying decision...

You very well could be right. The car I'm looking at will have been on the lot 6 weeks at the end of this month. I might approach them last week of September and see if getting another unit on the books for the month would be sufficient leverage.

My old car is now certified and for sale for $99,950 which, to me, is an awesome deal. Maybe I am biased because I loved it so much. It has PSE even though the description doesn't say so (I added it after the fact).

It would need X51 installed, but honestly - are you sure you need all of this? The Carrera S, as it stands, is frickin fast!!! You could pick up a car such as this and decide later if you want the X51.

Nice car you have there btw.

If you can spring it, why not just order a new, low option ($140k) '15 GT3? New allocations seem to have been popping up recently. Even bought new, it's probably going to depreciate less than a used S + custom additions contraption. Another option are the 38 or so almost new '14 GT3's (with branded title; returned by customers during the engine replacement episode) that Porsche will be auctioning to dealers in a week (I think). They can probably be had for much less than MSRP, and there are likely to be plenty of white ones there (as that was the most ordered color, I think). Snapping a low optioned one for <$120k would be much better than paying $105k for a used S. And that's just from a depreciation perspective -- not even mentioning performance, especially since you also have some tracking in mind, and looks (Turbo-wide a$$). Ask your dealer(s) about them. Just throwing this out there.

But I like the way you're thinking!

I was at a local dealer yesterday, they said that they were getting a number of GT3 orders cancelled.

Check out the 991 GT3 area here. The new allocations started coming in only recently (a week or two ago).
