Pepita fabric
Am looking at a very low mileage demo 911 50th but am a little concerned about how the Pepita fabric might look compared to leather after a couple of years so can any of the 50th owners out there that have had their cars for awhile comment on how it's holding up?

For what it's worth I think the fabric looks awesome. I wish that could be had on non 50th models. I wouldn't let is dissuade you from purchasing, Porsche makes a high quality product, I'm sure it will hold up just fine.

If I'm not mistaken, the houndstooth cloth is supposed to be new old stock. You might be able to get a sense of the longevity by looking at some of the vintage cars from the 60s.
That being said, I just hit 2000 km yesterday and my seats are holding up well.

Don't want to be offensive - but the factory Pepita cloth of the works Recaro Rallye II seats in my '72S is way thinner and appears not nearly as durable compared to the cloth in my 991-50.

The fabric in 50th certainly feels a lot different to the one used in 70's. I expect porsche to have chosen the best fabric for the job based on today's textile technology which incidentally is still led by German textile machinery.

Unless if you actually intended offense. Then, sir, I request you draw your duelling pistol.

Thanks for the feedback. I have only even had black leather in my cars for as long as I can remember.
My question was prompted by the fact that I was recently in a friends Golf GTI which had fabric upholstery and was a a bit worse for wear after only 2 years. Not so much from a durability perspective but more from the effect of 2 years of "bum and back on seat", such that the drivers seat was a much darker tone, almost a dirty stained look compared to the passenger seat which was pristine. It just didn't look very nice. Am a bit worried that the Pepita seat will look that same in a couple of years time.

It is WAY to early to comment on durability. If it were to show excess wear after 3000km. then it would be pretty crappy material. The verdict isn't in. Myself, I choose the full leather.
