Garage Renovation

I just completed a garage renovation this weekend that took about four times longer to do than I planned, but then again don't all projects go that way? It's a working garage, so its not as fancy as some you see, but I'm really happy with the way the man-cave turned out. Flooring is Race Deck TuffShield. Oh, and I will never - EVER again tape/mud/sand/paint a 620 s.f. ceiling that is 12' off the ground. That was worst than being waterboarded. And yes, the floor matches my car...lol

Before. Not very pretty (BMW GS being worked on):

Very nice. I wish I had the room in mine for those large tool chests. Maybe someday I'll get my barn.

VERY nice work! I like the fact that everything on the floor has casters. That was my big challenge in my garage renovation - get everything up off the floor that just seemed to find a way to build up along the floor on the side walls. It's amazing how much more space you have in a garage to get in and out of cars when you get stuff up off the floor...

I renovated mine while I waited for my car last year. I feel your pain on the mudding/sanding/painting...

Excellent work! Keep it clean and tidy.

Love the shine. I just have the original in my garage and it's taken a beating. The floor tile hates jack stands and floor jacks so when working on your car I suggest a piece of sheet metal under the stands and jack or you are going to pop divots/holes in the floor tile. I might change a portion of my flooring out with the metal covered squares (race deck pro) just for jack and stand placement.

Dr Sheepdog, your garage is bigger than my house.

Let's see 'em! I'm always up for something interesting.

I would like to get a pub table to put in front of the K1600 motorcycle, so I've been looking around and I don't want a CORVETTE one, or a FORD one, or a BUDWEISER one so I figured that since I'm such a huge HRE wheel fan (and have a set on my 991 that you see in the photo) I'd call them and see if they have a e-piece center and outer barrel in their boneyard that might be a second, or damaged, etc...that I can get for fairly cheap. Then I'll just make my own pedestal table with some tempered glass on top. HRE is checking now to see if they have anything. Nice folks out there, maybe they will find something.....

Nice job. I am assuming you have a lift under the silver portions of the floor?

Looks great. Do you get any tyre staining? I have a similar floor and have had to replace a number of tiles so far as they got stained by the standing tyres.
