My wife is going to kill me. Like most everyone on this forum, I'm a car nut. Over time, I've owned a little bit of everything. The last three: 1986 Ferrari 328 GTS, 1948 ****** CJ-2A, and the pictured 2014 C7 Z51 Corvette.
Last Saturday, I found myself checking out the 991s in the parking lot of a local Porsche dealership. One week later, I'm driving 180 miles away from home to trade in a perfectly good car for a spectacular Agate Gray 991 C4 Coupe.
Will post some pictures tomorrow after I determine if I need to look for a new place to live...
I am not a car nut. I'm a Porschephile. So maybe that's why I don't get it. You're trading the Ferrari ("a perfectly good car") so why are we looking at this other thing?
Agate! And a 4! Welcome to the club. I am partial to all that. Yesterday I accidentally did a power slide in my car. Endless smiling even after 1100 miles.
The Vette looks great, as does the new 991. What did you trade in? Maybe next time, keep the colors the same, and the wife might not even notice. Lots of guys here do that. Or they go from a 997 to a 991 in the same color, and you just tell the wife you bought new fog lights to update the nose.
Thanks. I have to say, I'm very impressed with the car. Incredible brakes. Fit and finish is excellent and the paint is near show quality-unlike the Vette which was loaded with orange peel. More importantly, it's just fun to drive. Still experimenting with the sport and sport plus settings. Really enjoying the manual trans too.

Ha. My wife is a lot smarter than me so not sure that's going to fly. I traded the Vette in the 1st picture.
