Have it on my car, and couldn't be happier.

Make sure the initial paint correction is done right, and perfectly. Everything else after that point is a turnkey operation.

I suggest removing the rear emblems prior to opti-coat.

Maybe I misunderstood. Did you just suggest taking off the Porsche lettering before opticoat and then putting it back?

Had mine done right after delivery. Mostly 1 stage paint correction. Some areas stage 2 for perfection. Took my detailer 2 days. $1,000. Car looks great. Stays cleaner longer. Super easy to wash. Dirt, and bug guts just fly right off. I plan to have the car redone every other year.

Prior to this year's winter hibernation, when I do a full wheels-off clean up, I plan to coat the inner wheel barrels with the non PRO version of OptiCoat on my own.

My rear badging was NOT removed.

Is this opticoat so good that washing is essentially a rinse off ? Wandering if low pressure power wash cleans an opti coated car or is that just fantasy?

Yes.

The opticoat can leave a transparent streak along the badges. It's visible under reflection of light and close inspection if you ever debadge or change the emblem to something else. If the badge stays there forever, then obviously there's no need.

As with all my cars, the day my C4S gets here the rear badging comes off and stays off. I already know what kind of car I have, so I never need to go to the rear of the car to find out what it is. Badging is a collection for point for road grit and Porsche isn't paying me anything to advertise for them. I will as soon as possible get opti-coated and clear braed, is that a word, will get clear bra back to the windshield. Called a couple local opti-coat installers, they have long backlogs, one of them well over a month. Must be a pretty good product.

The Porsche emblem with enamel on the hood is opticoated. But the rear emblem were not as they are chromed plastics.

Got my 991 Opticoated as soon as I got delivery and had Xpel installed. The Opticoat was applied over the Xpel on the front end which makes the XPEL even more durable. It's a fantastic product and plan on getting it again on my next vehicle.

Really up to you.

I didn't get Xpel or any other type of synthetic bra/film on my car, but my detailer said its fine to do it either way. Doing OptiCoat on the Xpel allows both the covered and uncovered part to age similarly, but the problem is the paint underneath the Xpel is not coated, so if you ever take off the Xpel ...

I suppose you could OptiCoat, apply Xpel, then OptiCoat the Xpel ....
