LED Clear Side Markers vs Bulb Type
While this has been discussed in the past, here are photos showing the mounted difference between the Bulb Type Clear Side Marker and the Porsche OEM LED Clear Side Marker upgrades. On my Basalt Black Metallic CAB with Black Bi-Xenon lights they add to the stealth look of the car. Well worth the $100 upgrade.

Looks nice. Thanks for posting! I have a black C4S and got the "bulb" clear side markers. It was a good upgrade from the yellow markers, but the LEDs look great! I was looking for a side by side comparison...and you just posted it.
I will be upgrading soon!

This may be a dumb question, but being how Porsche options go, I feel I should ask it anyway If one orders a new car with the LED lighting package are these the side indicators the car will have upon delivery? I went and looked at the description for the LED lighting package and the only lights it calls out are the headlights... This makes me think the answer to my question is 'No' but that would seem silly (aka: welcome to the world of Porsche options!).

If you want both clear and amber LEDs, you need to buy aftermarket from Porsche or BumperPlugs.
Your brake lights will be LED. Also your rear license plate light. LED headlights are a $$$$ option and awesome.

New 2014 991s will NOT have clear side lights. But they will be amber LEDs.

The 991 TT and TTS come with clear LEDs. Not sure about the 991 GT3, though.

I am not sure I care enough about the difference between side markers to replace mine, but I'm not even sure what I could consider. I have a 2012 991. Can I put LEDs in if I want to, or just clear markers with amber bulbs?
